I know there will be many differing opinions, that is the desired outcome, thank you for your time and input ![]() I could not see paying the going price for the Akra Pipe it was a few $100 more at the time. They look very similar in design. Go to scooterpartsco.com they have the best price on the pipe in the US. I run mine with all of the DB Killer's out. I am very Loud and compete with some of my Harley friends. I had the Akra Pipe on my GTS/300, and it just does not look to perform any better. My goal was to be "Very Loud"... Not sound like a Sewing Machine at a Stop Light. I had some problems with the Tip of the Akra Exhaust (The Rivets came loose.), and I switched to a Leo Vince as well on the GTS. I have my Leo Vince on my 2016 MP3/500 Sport since June 2015, the day I picked it up, I removed the OEM Boat Anchor Exhaust (Very Heavy). The Black looks great I think, and the heat has not had any impact on the Black Color which was a concern of mine at first. Keith, Marietta, GA ![]() |

![]() I have had the AK on since 2009 and no issues. Think I was the first one to get one for the MP3 400/500 here. Very very happy with it. I have the db killers in as it loud enough for my taste as is. I tried it with them removed and it was just too loud. I don't compete against others for who has the loudest. I like a nice tone and the AK does that.
Have rode with a few that had the first Leo V and I thought those were a bit louder than the AK. The big difference between the 2 is how the mount up. the Leo's area PITA . You have to install an additional plate. Where the AK is so much simpler. and easier when you need to remove it for service work like changing a rear tire. |

![]() If price no object the Akra without question. It's not like the Leo is a tuned header or anything.

![]() For price, get the old Leo Vince if it fits. I had it on my BV500 and it sounded nice.

![]() I was very happy with my stainless steel LeoVince which lasted for 6 years on two MP3s. Only complaint is that fitting its own header pipe is quite tricky on the MP3 because of poor access to the cylinder head studs.
If you get a racing version of either make don't expect them to last as long as the 4-road model. |
![]() I run a LV GT on my 400 and am pleased with the sound. I could not see the point of forking over more money for something that will sound similar and offer the same gain of about 1hp. I guess you would then come down to which looks better. The best part was as stated above, removing the heavy stock OEM exhaust. I did notice a little bit better pick up after 100kmh or 62mph, but it is nothing to write home about. Just breaths a little bit easier and the lower weight is helpful from a performance stand point.

![]() I've been using the Leo Vince Nero for more than a year now and I'm very happy with the quality and the sound.
This video is with both internal and rear DB-killers installed. I've since removed the internal ones but left the rear ones installed, since I felt it was way too loud without them. |

I don't listen to music when I ride, but everyone around me... Sure hear's me... I often wonder if that is taking some of the pressure off the engine from the "Oil Blow" Topic on a different Post. ![]() Two years ago I bought a used (one year old) Akrapovic for 165 USD, removed the db-killers at once and have been very happy ever since.
DJ Akra is the only music you need on a scoot... ![]() ![]() Looks great, sounds great. |

![]() The Akra may be the better pipe but it's hard to beat $170 for the Leo.
