Please post a pic of how you mount your phone! I have an ET4, and I can't figure out the best option since there isn't a handlebar to mount things onto.

I use a clamp mount on the mirror. The power cable runs through the body to my glove compartment- I opted to put all my wiring and ACC outlets inside the glove box so there's nothing showing except the phone/mount.

Welcome to MV!

RAM has a mirror mount that might work. Just Google it and you'll find several flexible options to consider.

As a followup- ET4 uses the same mirrors as my Fly did (roughly). Worked well on there too but it did put a dimple in the black plastic sheathing around the mirror stalk.

Seconded on RAM mounts. I use them in all my 4-wheeled-vehicles. Now you have me thinking....

How's the side-button interference- what phone do you use? that's the main issue with my cheaper mount- sturdy but I have to mount it just so or else it hits the side buttons.

I'll document my "mobile office" rig soon... the glove box holds a Samsung adaptive fast charger for the Galaxy S8 active phone (which is a waterproof hotspot), a UE ROLL 2 Bluetooth speaker, and surface pro charger. The Surface Pro 4 stays in the pet carrier in an otherwise empty backpack. Everything charges while I'm rolling. I can work from anywhere with signal/4G. Helmet has bluetooth.

Wow. Nice! I use the RAM X-Grip Phone Holders (Large) on my iPhone X. I typically keep it pretty low in the holder, so usually the buttons are untouched and not a problem. I also added the Dual USB Trim insert from ScooterWest which is how I charge it while riding.

I haven't really found one I like yet. At least not one that mounts to the bike. My GPS mount sits on the back. I tell her where we need to go, she plugs it in her phone and tells me how to get there.

Took a little searching but can you verify this is the RAM mount you're using?

That is actually not the one I use. I have this one: Ram Mount Rail Base with Stainless Steel U-Bolt and 1-Inch Ball for Rails from 0.5 to 1 Inches Diameter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002AQV51A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_1JrsBb120CG8Q.

I got this one. Great holder with a battery pack by Sena. When you put your phone in it and tighten it the phone isn't moving. Battery is very helpful. when i use my phone for direction i can almost see the battery drain. With a charged battery pack i never have to worry. I check the pack once a week and charge it if needed. Mine lasts 2 weeks if not used.

Just a hint: some mirror stems are too small for the mount. I use a piece of plastic hanger strap (the strip with the holes in for supporting piping, etc). I can then crank it down firmly without damaging the finish.

If it doesn't fit on the mirror stem i take a bike inner tube and cut some strips and wrap it until it fits whatever i'm putting on the mirror stem. Works for me.

My TMax doesn't have any exposed bars either, and the mirror stalks are odd trapezoids in X section, and far forward on the front fairing. No typical bar-clamp thing works, unless it is on the left grip, right next to the inside edge, by the switch gear holder/ thingy. I tried that but was always hitting with my hand, and it often impaired getting to the turn signals and horn buttons.

As I have a windshield, I went with this temporary solution: not surprisingly, it is turning into a long term test. Sticky weather-strip tape, wrapped around the flexible stalk, stops most of the vibrations and protects the plastics. And it removes in an instant and goes under the seat. Hve used used it for about 3 months, and had it on a road trip last weekend, about 300 km, with no problems.

Can't remember the brand, but it came in a green and white box, from Best Buy. $20.00 cdn. It has fairly large clamp, a flexible stalk, and a clamp that holds a wide range of tablets and phones. My 7+ fits fine. Probably best with some wind protection, but it has been perfectly reliable for me.

I use the mirror base ram mount ball and an xgrip type mount that has a usb port built into it. The port was hard wired in and only has power when the engine is switched on so it won't drain the battery.

Mine on the left mirror stem. Ram mount that gets the phone behind the fly screen.
