Took my Water Dragon to the vet for a simple follow up after surgery. The vet gave him a good looking over then started the oral exam as a following up to his surgery.
To keep his mouth open the Vet rolled up a piece of gauze an put it between his teeth on the right side like the Dentist does to keep his mouth open during the exam.
Well he has MBDA a bone disease.
Right near the end of the exam he started getting pissed and bite down on the gauze and the pressure from this broke his jaw on the left side at the front. I was there in the room and was the one that noticed it as the vet was looking inside his mouth not at the front jaw itself.
Vet did surgery and had to remove a 5 MM piece of his jaw bone that was infected.
So now his jaw is not connected in the front and have to wait and see if he can learn to eat on his right side. If he can't learn to do this, we will have to put him down.

This little guy rescued me from bad depression after my Quadriceps surgery 5 years ago and he is my whole reason for living right now.
Please Pray for a good recovery for him.

Wishing well for him, and for you, too. I know how it is. My cat Buddy helps me with my depression.

Sorry about the bad week. You get attached to the little buggers. Tough to go through that with them.

Hope things get better...

Thanks everyone. I got him as a rescue and it had been touch and go for a long time. But thought we were done with the hard times. I feel so bad for him, he doesn't understand what's going on.
