Advice please.
On my 64 plate mp3 500 i have no steering lock. The ignition key will only come out when it is in the off position, there is another position marked lock but the key doesn't release from it.
any ideas would be handy.
Ta.

Did you turn your steering all the way to one side, then try lock position.
I have forgotten which way (maybe to the left?) I used it a few times, a long time ago.

On mine, it's all the way to the left. It also locks the parking brake so it can't be released.

Pull you left handle bar towards you as you do the final turn of the key into lock position. It need to be at full steering lock to lock the steering lock.

I rode to work this morning, and it is the left.
I learned something new about the parking break too.

I only found out about the parking brake when I replaced the cable. Holy cr*p is it ever hard to remove the inner leg shield!!!! Anyway, I saw a funny little cam hooked to a cable that went to the ignition key. Fiddling with it, it would hold the parking brake lever up when the key was set to the steering lock position- which makes sense- if you're parked and locked you don't want anyone to push the bike forward or back even if they're savvy enough to release the parking brake.
