For my BV. Same looking key on my MP3.
Top box is made by Derbi/SOFT or something like that.

So AF1 has no blanks.
They said try a local keysmith.

Is there any place to source those or a copy that fits?
Part #? My BV only came with 1.

I see you can buy a new tumbler & 2 keys but it's $$$.
I just need a good blank and any key smith can cut it.

I've searched but I'm coming up blank

Thanks.

if you can't find one, take it to the locksmith anyway and see if they can find a blank that will work. often there is something close that can be made to work.

There is this one. Different shape handle, not sure on the barrel fit.
I notice Vespa top box keys are the same shape.

Were you able to look at that blank then and compare it to one of your Piaggio top box cut keys and confirm its the same base key design?

I was the guy the other day who called in also saying he was sending in a BV ignition key for you to clone and copy.

The person on the phone told me no blank Piaggio top box key was available?

Should I send in my top box key also to copy with that blank or is it best to order that blank and get a local locksmith to copy and test it?

Thanks

So that sure looks like the same metal blank as those Piaggio branded ones I posted above, but that one is a Vespa branded key.

I then went back to that Amazon listing and Googled that part #...
And came back to your website guys.

Same key too?
But you have no picture or fitment description for your search parameters.

Have you never been asked for a MP3 or BV top box copy or made one yourself in house?
I can't be the first ever, can I ?

I'll wait to hear back from you before I move forward on my ignition key copy send in to you, for you to determine 100% on that top box blank.

Thanks!

I will if needed but I'm hot on a real Piaggio blank so I'll try that first vs some generic key.

send it in...that same metal blank part you need has about 10 different handles it can come with, with chips and without, brands, colors. You need one without, and a Piaggio #.

I struck gold today.

So my local dealer Moto Italia went out of business in northern Colorado. Ace's picked it the full brand recently.

I went in and the old owner of Moto Italia, Mathew, is now the shop manager at Ace's

We went thru his key supply.

Vespa part # 573960 is a match that he had on hand for Piaggio OEM top boxes.

A local place will cut .

Ace's has a many Piaggio's and Vespas on the floor plus a stocked supply room and a well trained old school tech for all things Piaggio group. I'm very happy to have them locally.
