Modern Vespa

Have been told my P125X 30 anni Ultima Serie will be with me by next weekend and am so excited.

As you all know by now the PX has reached the end of the road and the final number of which mine in 443/1000 are coming off the production line at the Pontedera factory in Italy.

Will post pics of it once its here until then you all ride safe out there !!!

What is the one at the dealers like, i hear that the white walls are some Bobby no name chinese make as opposed to Sava?

I am considering one, i have a GTS at present and a PX 200 (210) which would be the one to part X.

Mate, Keep the P and exchange the GTS. As far as the 30th model, Buy it
it's really not "special" but it IS the last ITALIAN scooter of it's kind

I went to see it today. It looks lovely.

The only thing is that the dealer has a few ordinary PXs as well, at almost £700 (US$ 1300) less. Is it worh it for the extra kit? Hmm!

Apparently, Special Edition #0001 is going on Ebay. If that fetches a goodly price, it might enhance the value. We shall see.

Will I buy this one? Erm, yes, probably. I would only ever ride it on dry roads and then very occasionally.

Went to see my sleek new scoot today. She made it across the Channel is one piece and boy does it look sweet !! Better than I imagined.

The new seat made especially for this baby is far better looking than the ones I've seen on regular PX models and is comfortable. The chrome rims looks great and the white walls do give it that classic look. The other accessories are nice too. The Piaggio fly screen looks better than I expected and the chrome fold up rear rack looks great. The riveted plate on the glove box is nicely engraved with the details of the last 1,000 showing mine as being 443/1000 30 anni Ultima Serie.

Hope to have it registered and on the road by this weekend and am so f*****g excited !!! Have cleared a space for her in the garage and I will take this beauty out on dry days and keep it in original condition and not alter or customise for the forseeable future if ever.

Was told by my Piaggio dealer that the local newspaper had already called in to take some pics and that he had received calls from other locals asking about these babies and that he could have sold mine many times over and had one guy offering to pay over the odds but was told that it was'nt theirs to sell !!

I will get around to organizing some pics in due course but until that time

dude, eff those sava white walls. they are the worst of the worst. or "utter shite" as y'all say over yonder.

the only way to roll is on the conti wide whites.

if you want budget, the shinko white walls are okay in build quality but the grip isn't as good as the conti units.

piaagio looks like they had a load of 125 s knocking about. needed to shift em . so put £200.00 of overpriced extras ,an think we will pay £2.999 know loads of people who would have done it for a lot less money but whitewalls

If you ride around with a hammer, and take out every one of the other 999 you see, yours might increase in value even faster.
It really is a neat bike, and a piece of history, and I wish we could have the option to buy them here in the US. Congratulations.

Well ... I have had a 1977 PX 125 (then sold) for ten years and I have used it as a substitute instead of the motorcycle because in the city (obviously) the scooter is incomparable; then darkness for another ten years ...
I rediscovered the scooter as a type by buying a 50 cc (Aprilia Rally LC) and from then on buying bigger and bigger ones and ... forgetting the motorcycles.
In the meantime, Piaggio continued to produce the classic Vespa in various models, also periodically interrupting production in favor of modern scooters starting with the two-stroke Hexagon 125/150.
But ... some nostalgics kept asking for small productions of PX evolution (the one with front disc brake) and with the engine in the classic 125/150/200 cc displacements.
Unfortunately, the request to homologate a two-stroke engine with Euro pollution regulations in which the upgrade was increasingly difficult led to definitive extinction. The option of installing an automatic four-stroke engine was considered but there were already modern Vespa and the idea died there ...
As for living beings, the life cycle had run out ... and the classic Vespa definitively entered in the legend.
