I ALWAYS have to turn the rear wheel so the gear cogs line up ( in a fashion only they know)...and ALSO manipulate turn the shaft where the clutch mounts.. at the SAME time....then it satisfyingly slides in or out perfectly
Offer up (or separate) the fly side as far as it will go...apply very slight pressure to the fly side.....and then do the double wiggle of the shafts and smile as it all meshes and goes together or apart depending
also check the locating pin way down the bottom of the cases has not moved during disassembly and preventing (mostly) re assembly....it can stop the case closing the last 2cm
