I don't see any reason why not but I've been wrong before. Can I insert the Oil Pump Pinion Shaft after the engine is assembled? Mine is quite chewed up and I would like to continue with the engine assembly while I track down a replacement shaft for my 1980 P200E.

It goes under the carb air box.

Just make sure you put it in with the spiral section up, else it doesn't fit in properly.
