Modern Vespa

I passed up the Mighty O Big ride today, I thought we would get more rain. Since the start is 55 miles away, and I picked up my GTS there yesterday, I decided to show the Ducati a little love and take a spin around the local environs. i stopped off in Port Royal, a small town south of here, and got some foliage shots on the way back through the country. A little cloudy, so the pics don't really set off the color, but when it is sunny over the next week, the color will be phenomenal.

Frost Bite Falls Minnesota
Our colors are peaking here in Minnesota,

I wanted to find the remnants of my great aunt's general store out in the wilds of Franklin County, last visited as a teen in the seventies. I set off with the Beeline GPS, a minimalist approach recently acquired. The fall colors were fantastic, and the trip out smooth. I found the store on the main road, and they told me where to find the site of the old store. On the way home, while filling up, the Harley guy at the next pump handed me the fuel hose, and paid for my gas. I'll pay that forward next time I need gas.

Snow coming down North of the Twin Ciities

Since I got the Duc out last week, it was GTSs turn. A beautiful fall afternoon in the Ohio Valley called for a 50 mi scoot across the Kentucky and Ohio rivers, from Carrollton to Madison IN and back. I even saw a wedding on the Indiana side as I waited for traffic on the bridge. I stopped for coffee in Madison and chatted briefly with a guy who had a sharp 1970 BMW R75. No free gas this time, LOL.

Great pictures! Too bad the weather wasn't a bit sunnier. It's amazing how the colors pop when the sun is out. Buy it's hard to get perfect this time of the year.

Ya know, with that hair, I'm starting to visualize a Civil War general vibe. If we get to do Galena next year, there are reenactors about now and then....
