Hi, I just installed a bulb for the jewel light. Is this jewel light on all the time when the low and high beam head light is on?

Also there looks to be another place for a long bulb(festoon type)to go on the front of the main bulb fixture, it only has one wire attached is this for a day time light or something else? Thanks all!

On my old 125 TS (1977), the jewel light would stay on all the time. Not so much a high beam indicator; more of a headlight indicator. I suppose it could be wired up to come on only when high beam is on.

Oh! OK its a light "on" indicator..

I still think I'm missing something tho. I think the USA Rally light switch has a extra function on the bottom switch.

I'm tiring to find it somewhere on the web that can explain it better. My owners manuals don't show shit about USA models..

The Euro headlight unit has one bulb (globe) in the middle - dual filament for low and high beam. Then below that there is another hole for a smaller single filament bulb. That's the pilot light - also known as a running light or parking light, perhaps? In daylight you can barely see that it's on. I really don't know what they are for, but I kinda like them anyway. Sort of like the light on the legshield of a GTS250.

Vespas exported to North America might not have had this feature...

All set ...The bulb holder has been changed out to a euro. I have no Pilot wiring.
The Ground wire was on wrong, it made the jewel light stay on. I just moved the ground to the out side pole it seems to be working fine.

But my bottom thumb switch has three functions and Its a bit of a mystery??

Thanks Motorsport & Originali !! BIG SHOUT OUT!!

hi gate,i want to tell you that it would be easy and better to slip a little peice of heat shrink tube on the connections in the above image.

i love the stuff, comes in colors and can keep connections from coming apart and shorting out or worse.

if you have a 12v battery and your fuse fails, you can sizzle your harness(loom).
