picked up abandoned vespa for super cheap. immediately disassembled to start a part out. but in doing so fell in love with the quality and design. decided to do a custom restoration on it it for fun. follow along if you will. I promise to not disappoint.

Wow... what on Earth happened to cause the seats to be two vastly different colors like that??

Good luck with the project! I look forward to the results.

Look like that seat has been modified, seems to be much comfort then stock GTV seat.
Please let me know if you find anything about seat.

The rear section of seat is dried out original. The front was recovered in vinyl at some point in his life. I bought a wrecked 300 to combine with this scooter. will be using parts from both. will have option of creating GTS 300 or GTV 300. I like those factory big "super" stickers so i will likely be using those. leaning toward the first GTV 300 Super.

would like some opinions on color to go with on the repaint. i am not a fan of metallics so it will be changed to a non metallic color. I also am not a big fan of chrome but do like it in limited trim form. like wheels only. so most of trim will be blacked out. colors i am considering:

gt60 grey
white
matt white
matt porsche Riviera blue
matt tangerine or yellow

plans so far.
*malossi rear shocks with urethane bushings. if too stiff may just use one shock mated to one stocker.
bitubo front
*iperscooter exhaust , modded with flex section for longevity.
owner ported head
Jcosta variator or sliders/washer on stocker.

Heidenau K61 or Michelin pilots SC, struggle decision on 140 oversize rear?

* ordered

Sweeeeet.

For some reason, I'm thinking the GT60 gray would look pretty cool on this project. My two cents.

Are you going to go as far as cutting the slots in the side cowl, like Supers have?

the grey would be safe bet to awesome look. the gt60 is one of my favorites. it wont be practical to add 300 rear vents. no worries for me as i dont think they really ad much to the look of the scooter. i like plain, clean lines. will be removing all unnecessary trim . like reflectors and the like.

my first mod underway. I picked this exhaust because it eliminates factory slip gasket. and its shorter than most. very well made but didnt like the look of the new exhaust bracket . too blocky looking. modded factory bracket as well to get a cleaner look. I want to see my rear wheel. got a nice price on the muffler as the shield was damaged in shipping. but that was the second thing I didnt like about this exhaust. the shield looks bad if you ask me. so I will make something custom for it.

waiting on parts to arrive. blinkers come in. also pickup up gt200 tail lamp. I thinks cleaner looking then GTS one.

toying with the idea of exposed suspension in front. do have standard GTS fender on the way. but may just paint them both and then decide what the right look is. the first red bike in this video is hawt. not sure that look can be achieved with later bike.

Very cool Project, but don't like the indicators, too. Maybe you could have integrated small LED-Stripes into the Body, just like dinopez13 did it. Look for his thread.

I saw the project. several things I liked but several things I wouldnt have done. one of witch was the blinkers. didnt like them at all. too small and didnt flow with lines of bike at all. I like the blinkers I have choose. not too small and not too big. I do hate the cheap looking chrome, but they are not ready for install. the finished look will be three circles in front and three in back. headlight and tail light being round. I think the blinkers should be round as well.

here is one of my past projects. six weeks of cutting and welding alone. I am sure there are many things to like and many not. but thats what makes it all fun.

my apology. I for one am sick of the cell phone revolution. I agree with the following link. today a friend came over to visit. he was here two hours. he was on his cell surfing the whole time. then he left for lunch. world has a serious problem. texting is killing more people than drunk driving. pet peave of mine is sending crappy cell pics when there are so many cheap fantastic cameras around.

some parts arrived today
sport seat, bar end mirrors, and wheels
choose these rims because everybody has 5 spokers. but also because they are considerably lighter. like 1.5lbs per wheel.

I am back playing with scooters. Plan to finish this project in the next couple of months. Tired of looking at one bike taking up the space of two. crazy thing is i have never own a vespa myself. only test drove a 200 gts back when i was playing with dragster 180s. wasnt enough of ride to get me hooked. i am really looking forward to finishing this project. I had three running scoots and sold them all two weeks ago. I wanted to force my interest in this project. started the bodywork yesterday. this will get finished fast. Once I am focused I dont stop.
