Hello,
i bought broken Piaggio Sfera 125 ('97) - same electric as Vespa ET4 125 (96-99) with no spark and no lights. +12V (white wire in diagram) is working after turning ignition on. So brake light, turn signals, horn, fuel level indicator and starter is working. I don't know if the main lights go on with ignition on or after engine running only. Battery is new, regulator is new, sparkplug, main HV coil, HV cable, all new. +12V is going to regulator OK, but there is no output from it to yellow line. I don't know how much ohm should be on a stator coils, but it looks OK (at first sight). There is some AC volts to CDI from stator and pickup sensor. Actually i got all wiring off the scooter and everything should be OK. Still isn't

SO - white +12V DC from ignition is working, green stator AC to CDI is working, but even with new regulator it can't switch power to grey for lights and autochoke and i don't know why. Any advice?

Thank you and sorry for my english

Ignition and headlights are AC, fed from the stator. The bike should be able to be started and run even without a battery connected. So it would seem the stator is compromised - a dry joint, shorted turn or damaged magnets. Time to open it up and check it.

Bobo-

1. Have you checked your kill switch on the handlebars? I had a Kymco a few years back that had a kill switch that would still allow the motor to turn but not produce any spark.

2. The reason your starter, turn signals, horn and brake light work is because they are 12V DC and are getting power from your battery.

3. Your auto-choke takes 3-5 minutes to test. You have to remove it from the carburetor, look at the needle, turn on the key, wait 3-5 minutes and look/ feel if the needle has moved or the unit is warm.

It is definitely something ignition wise like JimC said. Check kill switch, stator, check pulsar coil (for resistance), CDI, ignition coil, ground wire.

Good luck

Thats true, there is no KS.
I found some AC parameters for this stator, so i'll check it.

Thanks.
