can anyone supply a hitch mount for a 300 super that will work with a pav 40 or a inder single wheel trailer. I would like a copy of one that is working well and would just bolt up and go. capt gary

I WISH someone had devised an mount that was easily reproducible. It would make the whole idea merely a matter of money instead of a matter of (probably a lot more) money AND giant effort in sourcing a hitch.

I did some wiring work for Travis aka sailing_gent who had an indie on a GTS 250. He has moved to the land down under but may have photos to share on the hitch. It was made by a local fabrication shop in San Diego. Took a couple tries to get it right.

A quart of that and we should be able to build anything....tonight. Who knows what it will look like when we sober up.

Trailer for Vespa
This trailer was made only in Czechoslovakia between 1960 - 1973. Its called Pav40 or Pav41.

You can buy some older pieces mostly here in Czech Republic
e.g. here http://www.eurooldtimers.com/cze/inzerat/52697-pav-40-puvodni.html
or sometimes on www.bazos.cz

If you dont have a problem with a copy of PAV (replica) - you can buy them here
http://www.mototechnik.cz/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=20
or here

Pav 40-41 or Inder trailer
The Pav 40-41 is much like the inder trailer the issue is the mount for the scooter we are in the fab shop with a proto type but no cigar as yet. Dave can you tell me the cost of the one your friend will build and would it be possible to get it before mid July. I have a big scooter trip starting the 18th of July and could last five weeks. I would like to take this trailer with me. Also I would like to know if you have any sway with your mount. Any help you can give would help get a crazy old boat captain get on the road. Gary

That's awesome! Doesn't look like it could get more stable than that. Looks like a pretty darn solid mount there.

Gary,
Love your Vespa hitch. Your hitch coupled with the flexibility of moto-mule trailer (40 lbs) would make a great cargo carry machine.

I tried to buy an Inder trailer a few months ago. Evidently, I missed the last new one in the US by a day, or so I was told. I have a backup plan which is to build a trailer. That parts pretty easy (I think) using wood and fiberglass. Its not metal but it will work just as well.

The real issue for me was working out the hitch and you've done a fantastic job at that. I don't have the metal working skills but I think I can come up with something quite workable using your design and the Instructables.com reference above. I like the concept of the castor but its used in tension, not in compression like it was designed. I'd worry about the long term wear on that caster. Still, it has merits.

Best
Miguel
