Hi there I have just become a proud owner of a 2006 vespa lx50,however although it idles fine ,when opening her up she just dies down.I have cleaned the tank put in fresh fuel ,new fuel tap ,stripped and cleaned the carb and new spark plug, and she still dies down.I am running out of ideas unless the carb is faulty? Please can anyone help a new member ,as I can't even go and try my new vespa! Thanks in advance!

The main jet may still be clogged. The diaphram may not be seated properly. There may be an air leak on the boot. The fuel filter may be partially clogged. The vacuum line may be partially blocked or cracked. The air filter may be clogged. Welcome to the forum!

Vac hose goes from pit cock to the manifold .If its old replace it,they dry out and crack.Jets get gummed up so bad some times you have to plunge the main jet with a plunger.Like a wire .75mm

There's only a fuel hose and vac hose that makes it run.Under the fuel hose on bottom of carb is a drain hose that goes towards the ground.

Did it sit a long time, how many miles? You might have to soak the carb.It has Chanel's that get clogged too.Soak and blow out with compressed air.2 tiny holes in front of butterfly.Where are you?If you know an other 50 owner swap carbs.

Update!Carb all checked cleaned out re checked ok.Vaccum hoses etc ok Fuel in tank new.If you don't give it outright full throttle/keep back on throttle you can build up some speed ,on a flat ok ,then it holds back/loses power. I suspect the carb is worn ?Any thoughts. Thanks (Air filter has been cleaned ,new spark plug and valve onn fuel tank already fitted)

What carb do you have? Is it a 2 or 4 stroke?Did it run better after cleaning the 2nd time? All my questions are for a reason to help you.^

Its a 2 stroke, will go if "nursed" but will die on opening throttle and seems to hold back on higher speed, and will just die down if throttle opened to quickly. Thanks

What's the compression ?Is the manifold dry and cracked or sucking air?Spray carb cleaner on it .If if revs up you have a leak.

Gf had issues with hers bogging down badly carb was clean as a whistle. Apparently the part that pushes the fuel i to the carb was clogged(not jet). Warranty covered
