To me a good patina has to look aged but well cared for. If it looks like a beater, best be restoring a little.

Beautiful bike Len, in nice shape but looks like it's honestly paid its dues a bit too.
Does living patina count? I really need to get this one back on the road because I heard that's a good way to deal with this problem. A Rolling Vespa Gathers No Moss.

My neighbor gave me this one years ago, I gave him $200 so there wouldn't be a question down the road. He took me to his mothers house and there was a tin Sears shed overflowing with gardening implements, but I could see a mirror popping out of the pile. I had to listen to his tales of doing 80mph on it when he was a teenager. I just smiled and nodded alot. I used it as a street marker for a couple years till I got bored one night and started disassembling it. I had it on my trailer to have the dmv verify the vin and some random old guy chased me down and told me he had what turned out to be a 76 Sprint V police scooter with a bent front fork. I bought that for the engine and passed the rest of the bike on to Scooterpimp. Jenforest, a MV member has the Allstate now last I heard.
original paint!

^ The night photos of this old scoot rusting in a field covered in pine needles are oddly surreal and slightly heartbreaking.

Mine came on my Cushman VS5. I've not re-used it since I feel like I never have the time to straighten it. (Maybe this winter.)

I cut this bracket from the bottom of an old shock, to use it for an engine stand. I like the fact that back then, Piaggio seemed to be making more of their own parts, and they took enough pride in their shocks to stamp their name on the bracket.
