![]() I've not had much time to work on the scoot this month due to work commitments , so today I locked myself in the garage and got the cables and wiring through the frame and mounted a few bits and bobs.

![]() That's looking beautiful. Love the colour. You'll be riding it before I'm on mine!

![]() Grey might be nice. White - I don't know, scoot is too sporty for that. Great job, nice color. You should be proud.

![]() The black rubber looks great with the orange.
Unless you can get one of the other colors dyed to match exactly, I'd go with it. Then again, I'd probably go with black even in preference to color-matched. |

![]() If you were toying with the idea of matching the rubber, then have a look here - http://www.scootercentral.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=17761 Pretty impressive result.
Thanks to Jeremy for the info. |

![]() Hello.
I procured the same front fender and need to drill holes for mine as well. How did you do that? Did you drill from the inside out? Your color looks incredible. I used to have a Rally 180 with close to that color. I think I'm going to hate that I'm doing a partial rebuild on my 74 Rally. The floorboards could use a little work but overall the bike is very straight. I wish we had talented, and affordable, craftsmen here. I got a basic quote from a guy here in the US to do some bodywork and paint my scooter, $2500. I bought the scooter for a little more than that! |

![]() One step forward two steps backwards.
Due to a schoolboy error I had to part strip and reassemble the fork, while doing this I managed to drop it onto the new speedo cable and crush it, then I assembled the brand new petrol tank only to find out it is leaking at the seam and to top it all off the chrome is falling off my new headlight. I cant remember who I bought the tank and headlight from. ![]() On the upside I managed to fit the toolbox and some other bits and bobs. My engine is built and ready for collection this Tuesday and the shop will fit the aluminum trim to the leg shield at the same time. So I hope to have it on its wheels this week. Ricky ![]() |

![]() Ricky what pipe is that? Looks nice.
And is that a reed valve manifold? Was that on it when you got it or something you bought? |
![]() Ginch I added the reed valve and it's a Scorpion pipe. I am planning to get the scoot running this week should sound sweet.

![]() My last scoot was a DR kitted 180 sprint with a sip pipe and re jet. This engin has had the cases ported and matched for the malossi 166 and the reed valve a race crank, updated clutch, 28mm carb with ram filter and a big shiny pipe. I really hope I see a difference.
![]() I will spend Sat and Sun getting the cables connected and starting the thing. MOT here I come |
![]() After 3 hours wrestling with the Scorpion pipe it is on

![]() Just read through this whole post - well done it must be sooo exciting getting so close. Scoot already looks fantastic!!
|
![]() Could not be bothered to work on the scoot over the last 2 weeks, I have had to repair the fuel tank that was damaged in the crash as the new one is a T bag and lots of other little frustrations with supplied new parts realy sapped my energy. But today I poped into the garage for 10mins, hooked up the break cables, adjusted the gears and clutch, fitted the old tank and seat and took the scoot out for a run up and down my road. I now have my mojo back

At last it's done, so much for a quick build and on the road by spring, This turned into a full nut and bolt rebuild.

![]() Goon news the scoot sailed through its MOT and has had 100 miles of no issue running in. Bad news It now wont start - no spark bugger
At least I have had a chance to clean and polish it Before and after ![]() ![]() |
![]() Not sure what was causing the no spark issue but I pulled the flywheel and found some unexpected metal debris. A new vespatronic from ebay has solved the problem, and its orange
