You Dutch folks are cool in my opinion, very friendly folks, and humorous.
The tour you've planned though sounds like more than an adventurous outing, considering the hills of Germany, and the bigger hills called the Alps. They drive full speed too.
With 50cc, you are not allowed on the Autobahn, so it may take days for you to even get through Germany on rural roads. It would be pretty though, pretty long too.
I doubt you'll be able to get through the Alps though. They won't let you on the main roads to get through.
In Germany, the new Gov't is considering making a Toll for foreign travelers, so bring along some extra cash. Better yet, give me some money, I have connections. Not to worry. Just bring some Old Genever, and we can discuss the details.
Cheers.
PS: Welcome to the Forum.
The plan is to avoid all the highways. With a 50cc scooter you are allowed to drive on the B-roads. That is the route I will take.
All the main roads in the Alps are open for scooters so I don't see why it would be a problem to use them. The Toll that the Germany is planning on will only be for the Autobahn so it is of no concern for my journey. And if I have to pay Toll in the end I will pay it.
This year I went with my Honda S2000 on a road trip and drove 3500 miles flat out. The gas bill was of epic proportions so the costs I have to pay for driving the Vespa to Italy will be very small in proportion to the costs I had last year.
But I'm not complaining the fun we had was epic!
