Oh dear. I brought the new-to-me Vespa 250 home. It started just fine in Vancouver, again in PG, but this morning, doing start up and only a very weak couple of moves, then nothing. Checked the manual, it says 12 volt, so I thought it would be easy. Got out the battery charger and gave it a try (although trying to get the cables onto the terminals was a chore) and a bit more lively, for a second, then nothing and nothing continues. It simply will not start.
So, any help for this mechanically challenged female? IT does look great but we already have a lawn ornament!

Are you saying that it cranked for a very short time, you put the charger on it and it cranked a little more but not enough to start? If so the battery may be toast or just low. How long did you have the charger on it? You may need to leave it on longer. If it's a charger made for cars don't leave it on for more than an hour or it may burn out the battery. A small cycle charger may take overnight.

Like Matt said was it a car charger or a battery tender? If itss a tender you need to leave it on until the green light goes on. Batteries that are dead need a while to charge. Once it's charged take it for a long ride. That said you may need a new battery. Good luck

Also check your spark plug, If it's not in good shape, it won't provide good spark. If it's older, you should swap it out with a new battery. Both are pretty affordable and DIY projects.
