Mine died in less than 1000KM and replaced by the dealer under warranty. They said it is a common problem for new Primavera/Sprint.

I definitely have had my share of issues with the Vespa Primavera, now at 9100 KM. I still love it but it is definitely costly to maintain.

The latest development is finding that one LED light is out on my front right running light (a signal light in Europe). It appears to me that I have to replace the entire light and can't just replace the dead LED. I doubt it can be taken apart.

If anyone is aware of a different option, please let me know.

Thank you.
I had the same thing happen too my leds exactly. My dealer fixed it under warranty. Not sure how they fixed it. Iím on vacation this month but when I get back i will ask for you.

I put the stock exhaust back on since I was trading up to GTS 300ie (just got it!) and surprisingly, I did not feel any difference in performance this time. I had also changed the Variator weights to 9.5 g Dr. Pulley sliders.

My new GTS does NOT need any performance mods! hehehe...
Now at the dealer because of a blown head gasket! What's up with that!!!????
Meanwhile, I just ordered a custom Corbin seat and asked it be lowered as much as posiible, up to 2" less).
Can't wait...!!!

Surprised about the blown head gasket.... I abused my Sprint for about 4 months using full throttle up and down the 95 in Florida. I really thought the sprint would blow up but it handled it well. Having said that I blew my crankshaft but that was the fault of a real idiot at a scooter shop. I believe he didnít tighten the variator nut to spec and it destroyed the crank .... no fault of Piaggio or engine design.

Looking forward to seeing your new corbin , I really like there quality.

Just curious do you have a idea how much too repair a blown head gasket ?

Noob here. Will the 12" Sprint wheels bolt right up to my Primavera without any issues? Sure is a better tire selection.

Yes, you'll need to swap the center stand also since the Primavera's is shorter.

Head gasket repair should be under warranty, N/C. They said it was a 4-5 hour job; so at current rates here of $120 per hour, maybe $600 + parts .

Damage to my sprint
Thanks Ray... Here is a pic of the repair. It was done at a Ferrari / Lambo Dealer that has its own body shop and may add its owned by Italians. That was funny the way you described your GTS in pieces. I received your mail and will ans you when i'm back from Italy.

Sorry about your Sprint! I hope you get it repaired properly and that it comes out almost new! ...and don't let it ruin your Italian adventure. Hahaha.

My GTS is still at the dealer's shop as after disassembling the motor, they saw that the cylinder top, piston top, and Cylinder head mating surfaces were not milled properly. The surfaces were uneven, resulting in the blown gasket. They just got all these parts and it will probably be a 5 hour job. Luigi at the factory must have assembled my bike halfway on a Friday, had Vino all weekend, and came back Monday to finish; forgetting what he had already done! Ugh. Wish me luck.

Rear Hub Oil or less than full
Hello
I am proud new owner of a (used) 2015 Sprint 150 with 800 miles on it and changed all the fluids but the Rear Hub oil was low. I drained the rear hub and it had 2 -3 oz .... less than it should I am sure.

Question: Is it all okay ? All seems okay with riding and no play in the rear wheel and no leaks ....

Steering bearing replacement
The roads in Montreal , Vermont and Florida took its toll on my Sprint. With 17,000kms it needed the work. Here is a pic of the Sprint being worked on. Havnen't had a chance to try it but will give a ride report after the repair. I'm also having Ohlin's front and rear being installed.

Hi people. Am new to this forum and love it.
Wanted to ask you how did it cost to repair those scratches on the side? Where was it done-have the same colour bike with similar scratches on the same side-will post pics soon.

Does the exhaust make a big difference in performance? I have a 125 and been thinking about the upgrade.

Hi ! I brought the Sprint to a paint shop that works on Ferrari and Lambo's. The cost to bring it back to original ( They did a heck of a job) was 600$ Cdn $.

They were even able to get out the big dent. Good Luck with your repairs. Since your in the UK find a body shop that works on Rolls , Bentley

Thanks for the info. Strangely enough i have managed to locate a couple of bodyshop repairs including roll and bentley. Will probably get it done in the summer when the weather is warmer. Price is about right.

The only mods on my sprint so far is floormat, LED headlights and licence plate lights-which were easy to swap out.

Getting some water mist/drops forming in the twil light...will remove and check for any loose fittings. I do wash the bike regularly but it should not happen.

Hi VIX ! Nice color on stripes , Good job !
TBH, more for visibility than style.

Initially seduced by the "darkside", I discovered quickly that turning taxi drivers who do not notice/spot a matt grey scooter in the evening may attempt to side-swipe you.

Hence, Vix wears reflective orange stripes... and, lights up all-day.

Akrapovic: Looks good. Sounds louder/nicer. May go a wee bit faster (if one imagines hard enough). "Big difference" when you upgrade to the Malossi big bore kit (190cc).

Need to hear the Akropovic with the baffle in...as i like it not too loud-hopefully not far off the stock sound.
The big bore is a nice idea but may not get that much of a performance difference with a 125cc. Also got to check my insurance small prints about modifications before doing any other major mods.

Kdude-any reports about the ohlins shocks?

Noted you are a first-time rider:
Hence, please enjoy your ride as-is. Get a decent number of miles under your wings before going down the engine mod route, if at all.

IMO, Akrapovic/Malossi/Remus exhaust "upgrades" are primarily for aesthetic reasons for 125s or 150s running stock engines. Performance-wise, the bolt-on gains (in HP and torque) are negligible.

It just looks great... and may sound/feel faster.

Installed the Malossi BB kit, kept Akra exhaust baffle in place. Vix just burbles and pops in a likeable manner. With a helmet on, she feels more alive.

Cheers.

Cool. Like the shorty mirror arm length.
Does any know of or has done so-swapping out the shorty arm and connecting with the stock mirrors? Is it even possible?

You are welcome.

Like you, was also planning to go Ohlins. However, have been told that the Ohlins front-end for a 2015 Sprint does not fit Vix as-is (she's a 2016 150S with ABS).

Have you checked the Ohlins' compatibility with your ride?

Just had a look on the ohlins website and cannot locate my 2016 Sprint 125 ABS...i may be in the same situation. Will kerp on digging and see if i can find some info otherwise will just email them with my bike info and see what they recommend.

Hi all.

The Primavera manual says you can make this change (hold the Mode button with key OFF, turn to ON, continue to hold the button down for 2 seconds, release). Won't work for me, however hard I try.

I've seen at least one other person on the forum with this problem, so I don't think it's just me.

Anyone know if it's possible to make the switch, and if so, how?

It's a Piaggio problem. I had the same issue with my Moto Guzzi V7. Try different combinations. Release and hold again, etc. I eventually figured out the V7, but it didn't agree with the manual.
