I have seen some threads and searched Google but haven't found the info I need.

I have a Vespa 300 GTS and would like to install these spoked rims from an MP3

(like the ones here: http://goo.gl/0qcR9M , http://goo.gl/wn5Msf )

I have heard that two from MP3 rims will work. On the 300 GTS, the front is a direct bolt on where the rear requires slight machining/ modification to make it fit.

Can someone tell me what the exact modification should be for the rear MP3 wheel to bolt on? Anyone done it with both front and rear on a 300 GTS can post photo?

Thanks!

It would need to be a MP3-250 2009 or older so that it has a 12inch rear wheel

So no mods necessary to the rear rim of the MP3 or swingarm of the Vespa 300 GTS? Just bolt on?

So both front and back will be 12 inch? Or 13 on front and 12 on back?

I don't know if any mods are needed. Front wheels on a MP3-250 are 12inch also. Yourban's have a 13inch up front. You would to determine the rim width for the GTS and the offset. Compare that to the MP3-250's rim width and offset.

Re: MP3 Rims on a GTS 300? Oh, yes...
I wish I had written this stuff down. About all that I do remember is that comparing claimed weights for the wheels gave the MP3 a definite edge in lightness, so I had to do this!

I had my shop mount the tires and install, so I cannot give particulars, but I don't think they required any modification at all.

Don't quote me: I think I used two MP3 front rims.

I am sure others with more knowledge will correct any and all misinformation I have uttered.

The rear rim of the MP3 250 does not even have bolt holes. The drive splines are part of the rim. There is no way a rear MP3 rim will work on a GTS. Now the front rims of the MP3 can be used on the front or rear of the GTS if you get the correct diameter. The only modification required is to knock out the hubcap.

all the current usa mp3 front rims will work for the GTS's front and rear. 12" the op just has to determine which color black or silver they want.

Yes I want the black ones like that!

So I am looking for two 12 inch front rims from an MP3?

Will two 13 inch rims work? If so any mods needed?

Only 12" front MP3 rims are available in the US. They fit both front and back on a GTS.

the 13" Yourban rims will work, but you have to grind down about a dime thickness of metal from the swingarm or hub to make the rear one fit. You can do it with a dremel. The part number is 58618R. I think your tire choices might be limited, because according to one of the Italian forums, you have to use low profile tires, and they are usually expensive and an absolute bitch to mount on a scooter rim.
The 946 Front rim and the new Sprint rim also fits the GT/GTS.

The black ones you want are original equipment on the MP3 500. Order two front wheels and you'll be set.
