Well, I had no idea it was that low. I had been on a long ride, and had been doing some very high speeds. I noticed it when I got nearly home, and stopped for groceries.

I tried to limp home, but it was showing a very large bubble by that time. Didn't make it more than half a mile before it went bang, but I was doing about 10MPH because I knew it was coming.

Still, I'm very happy with those Michelin City Grips. Got me a new set.

I got about 3,251 miles out of that tyre.

Not good.
I'm sure I don't NEED to say this but, it's really important to keep a close eye on your tires. Best way to do it is by checking tire pressure regularly and glancing over at the tread indicators (like once a week).

Be safe my friend!

I know. I'm sure the irony of "Scoot Safely" isn't lost.

What did surprise me about these tyres is how fast they go from "lowish" to "bang". I'll know to keep a better eye on them in the future.

There's only about 1mm of rubber left above the cords when the treads are disappearing - and it's soft rubber, so only lasts a couple of hundred miles. Those wear markers (at 2mm above tread bottom) are there for a reason.

Glad you anticipated it OK.

Haha. Exactly. I must admit, I do have a history of letting tyres go way too far. When I get a tyre, it's a prisoner!

I think a lot of us are guilty of that. Working at a bike shop you see it all the time!
