I made sure there were no cameras around for that. Believe me, I did the world a favor.

Thanks again everyone. It was sure sweet to ride it in to work this morning after 7 months. Feels like a new bike. Power was excellent. Of course I am pretty much sticking to Piaggio's break in advice so I didn't push it hard this morning.

Congrats and I too had a nice time riding 123 miles home after picking up my `04 750 Breva Guzzi from the dealer after they had to correct what I had mussed up. It too has been sitting for months and now it feels bulletproof again. So yeah, I drank more beers than usual celebrating.

So Iím still around and even though I donít post as often I still read and actively moderate. Been a crazy few years since I did this rebuild but thought I would update.

5000 miles later the engine is still running like new. Iím back to the stock silencer since the AK self destructed and their customer service was no help.

I just had to replace the throttle close cable which was a PITA but aside from regular maintenance the scoot is still solid.

I just reread this thread and want to say thanks again for all of the support.

Would really love to. Unfortunately, almost all of my time off is spent in Chicago with the grandson or scouting for a place to move to in a couple of years. Right now Danville, KY is the leading contender.

Whoa. Going to retire by moving from the St. John's River in Florida to Danville, KY? I see it is 20 degrees there tonight and supposed to be down in single digits by Tuesday. Are you sure you know what you are doing to yourself?

Lol yeah. Hate Florida summers more than I hate winter cold. Though Danville would be the furthest north I will consider.

And don't forget Sticky's from Maine, so KY is practically tropical compared to that...

If you and the fam are venturing out west from Chicagoland sometime when you're up here, give me a holler! I may be able to come meet up with you, say hi, maybe even loan you a bike to do some riding...

Hey Sticky! It took me a long time to get Mrs. Hillbilly to go riding with me. Then one day she come up to me and says " I'll come with you honey" Go figure! Mabey it's because I threatened to find another Bikerbabe to be my rear tire saver.
