I discovered an artist whose work I think would look great on my scooter, so I'd like to share his work with you: Ryan McGinness:

http://www.ryanmcginness.com/works/2004_4.html

his work has a modern, logo kind of feel, but I also like the affinity with natural forms.

So I was wondering--which artists' work you would like to have on your scooters?

I plan on doing a wee bit of custom painting on my GTS, soon.

If I were to have someone else do some art work on my scoot, I'd have to go back in time, because they guy is dead: Kenny Howard

That's Von Dutch, by the way

Oh, that's an easy one...I'd have the greatest artist of ALL time paint my scoot...Thomas Kinkade, the legendary "Painter of Light."

Here's an interesting site for you Machine gun... perhaps you can find an image that is not only inspired by your favorite artist, but also suits a name like machinegun...

Tes One!
Tes One is awesome! Similar to Ryan but perhaps better. I like the use of faces. Very cool.

Actually, I'm not into that particular series of Murakami's work.

The singing flowers that were painted on silver leaf would be cool on a silver Vespa.

And I am a huge fan of the Louis Vuitton patterns he did.

And don't tell me you wouldn't want something like this on a scooter:

I chose myself as the artist , doubt I could afford a Murakami original.

I'm doing my P200 first:
This is only the first layer (if you don't count the spraypaint underneath)
http://pinhole.textamerica.com/?r=4342860

I'm using the linocut blocks from prints I make - after I get a few layers down for "depth" then I'll focus on what the top layer is going to be and cut some stuff specifically for the scooter.

If it turns out well - who knows... after a few scratches and dings my GT could be next.

Amazing!
That is a truly amazing work of scooter art! How did you do it? Did you create your own stencils? I've been looking at some stencil patterns, but I'm not as confident an artist as you.

Not stencils. I'm re-using linocut blocks from prints I have already made.

I carve a drawing in the material ('Safety Kut' is the brand name, it is flexible but also stiff like a big sheet of pencil eraser-like material) then ink it up and press it onto the scooter. You can see a carving-in-progress on the header of my website. http://chuntao.net I imagine it'lll take me months to build this up the way I think it should come out.
