I am currently putting together a GS150 engine with the best tuned parts on the market at this moment in time.
Remade Scooter-Center barrel & Gran Sport piston, the barrel has been matched to the Series - Pro manifold with Dellorto 24 PHBL carburettor, CNC cylinder Head, Pinasco 12v Ignition, Kingwelle Crankshaft & a specially designed GS tuned exhaust.

Bigger GS piston.

The casings have been stripped and will be mirror polished, 3-4 weeks before these are ready.

This is the new exhaust for tuned GS150 engine, pictured with a standard exhaust so you can see the difference.

just a heads up
i just fitted a pinasco fly-tec ignition on my tuning project a vnl1 engine
not impressed at all
there's nothing in the instruction documents that came with the kit on fitting any kind of spacer and there's no key to lock the flywheel to tighten it

i had to do a fair bit of drum sanding with a dremel to make it fit the case
there wasn't enough clearance between the raised lip for the crank seal and the stator plate and not enough clearance for one of the screws
make sure you check it properly before you tighten the stator plate screws else you may break your new base plate

looking forward to seeing yours finished

The VN scooter must be slightly different. I have the Vespatronic on my other GS & its so poorly made, expensive & not well made. Pinasco is far superior to the Vespatronic & an easy fit for the GS. I know a few GS owners with the Pinasco and they couldn't be happier.

a few years ago I was able to pick up around 7/8 GS projects for very little money, kept a few for myself and sold a few on, which paid for the ones I kept. unfortunately, the contact I had has not been able to source as many as he used to & the ones he did find more than doubled in price, but I still keep looking.

hope to have a few more pictures to post shortly, but at the moment I am relying on few others to do the things I can't.

Vespa GS crank

Vespa GS crank

This crank allows you to use the PX clutch and the seals are on the outside of the crank case which makes things a lot easier, if a seal goes.

Vespa GS150 twin pipe sports exhaust

Also got this exhaust, again a new designed exhaust for the GS which should add a few more hp.

I was going to suggest you contact Megadella for an exhaust... but I see you already did! No joy there I take it from the lack of reply?

Its not the Megadella exhaust, its by Vespazio (Luca). I believe there will be a few other GS exhaust on the market shortly.

Holy Smoke, Gary, those are beautiful!!! You should have no problem keeping that motor clean. Can't wait to see it together w/ the other goodies.

And you get a nice incidental benefit:

I first used a wire brush on a grinder and then sent them off to be professionally polished. You can get a very good finish yourself, just with a bit of elbow grease.

This was a set of PX casings I had done a few years ago.

I had no idea cases could be polished like that. That's something I may try one day... when I'm REALLY, REALLY bored.

Thanks for the response. Yours look great!

This is what you can achieve with a grinder & a wire brush attachment. If you keep on top of the casings using carburettor/brake cleaner then they will stay like this for a long time.

This project has been really slow, through no fault of the people involved, engine has had its teething problems with the new type of crank amongst other things and the paint colour/design has been a difficult decision, which is my fault. As you can see not in bad condition considering its nearly 60 years old.

I should have a lot more pictures and progress on this build in the next two weeks, sent more stuff to the chrome/polishers and with a little luck engine should be finished. Paint is probably 4 weeks away due to holidays.

nice exhaust deflector(s)! Can you show a photo of the twin exhaust pipes where they exit of the box? Was the exhaust a custom job?

its a standard exhaust with twin pipes where I have added the second engine side tailpipe, the two deflectors are original GS accessories. Click on the image & it should play a small video.

Vespa GS150 is now in paint, waiting on its secondary colour on the panels, mudguard & headset.

Also built a engine stand to help run in the engine.

no, couldn't possibly get it to this standard. this is in fact the painters first ever scooter & he has done a bloody great job of it. a few minor issues, but they were my fault not his & I am planning on using him again.

although the scooter is nearly finished, Ive still got a lot to do, the exhaust needs looked at, either re-chromed or ceramic coated with chrome pipes. theres also one or two other decisions to make, but I need to get it on the road, mot & other UK paperwork sorted.
