Only the high beam works on my scooter. I checked the bulb and both filaments are good. I looked at the switch and there are only two wires that look like they are involved with the high/ low beam function ( purple and yellow/black). How can I test the switch to see if it is working ? What other things might I look for ?

There are two relays on this model (behind the battery), one is for the starter and second for lights. Check the relay.

FYI, my 2005 PX 150 was having the same problems. Turned out the headlight relay was corroded, which was causing my low beam to not work. My turn signal relay was corroded as well, causing intermittently working turn signals. I replaced both relays and everything now works as it should.

Come to think of it, I think I just disassembled the headlight relay, cleaned up the contacts inside of the relay box with a tiny file and sandpaper, smeared a tiny bit of dielectric great on the contacts, then snapped the cover back on. I'll have to go over to the shop and look at the bike again to double check though.
Cleaning up the contacts on the turn signal flasher relay definitely did not work for me (I tried about 6 times), but I never had to buy a new relay for my turn signal either...I just took the existing relay off of my T5 (PK turn signal flasher is the same) and put it on my PX.

My 2005 PX150 (USA) has 4 relays behind the battery... turn signal, starter, kill switch, and highbeam.

Maybe this will help.
It's the wiring diagram for that model showing ALL the relays.

Good luck. The black and white schematic is a b*tch to read. I printed mine out on 4 sheets of 11x17 paper, stitched them together with tape, and still had to use a magnifier and a ruler just to track where lines went.

But in the end, I found it to be accurate.
