MP3 250 weighs in at 450 lbs, and its GVWR is 945 lbs*.
So you have almost 500 lbs to play with. *This is not from Piaggio spec, but rather from a dealer ad that I found on Google. But it jives with what I know about my MP3 500, so there is that. |

When I bought my 250 MP3 I tried it 2up.....it was basically gutless. Doable around town but that is all.
Now a 400 can handle 2 people in fact I've ridden my 400 all over the West @ 900 lbs. and it handled 6% grades, etc. with no problems. |

I love my MP3/250, its my "Commuter" to work.
The 500 Sport see's mostly highway. Raining off and on today here in Atlanta. So that means "Maintenance day". Flushing the Fluids on the MP3/250... Amazed how dark the Brake Fluid gets in just 2 years. Coolant looked really good... Not sure why Piaggio suggests every 2 years. I think it could have gone 3 easily. Keith Marietta, GA |

the only time I would ride 2 up on a 250 would be during an amerivespa event as you would do fine keeping up with all the 50ccers.
