This is my wife's 2005 Pink & White Vespa ET4. The paint job was farmed out by Vespa of Memphis to a local paint shop (I don't know who). The white has a pearl quality to it and this shows through under the pink sections as well. Enjoy!

Scoots...

No! Not a daft question at all!

We weren't around when the painting was done. Originally, my wife and I were going to visit Memphis, purchase two matching pearl white ET4s and then have the two scoots picked up the next day by my friend and motorcycle transporter Grady. Grady and his wife were vacationing in Tunica, MS (only about 30 miles from Memphis...apparently there is a pretty sweet casino scene down there!) and would pick up the scoots the next day and then bring them to Oklahoma.

Well, my wife gets there, sees a pearl white scoot on display that was pink and white...the only problem is that it is an ET2...she wanted an ET4. So we arranged to have the scoot painted and then had it shipped via carrier to OKC. I had Grady pick up my scoot and bring it back, since he was already there and had already been paid to do the job.

To the best of my memory, they did take all the panels off the bike to accomplish the paint. It took about 3 weeks before we got the bike in OKC as I recall.

I should add that I believe that they simply put a transparent pink overcoat over the areas that are pink...the pearl undercoat shows through all over the scoot.

is exactly what i am making for my fiance to ride. I am really gonna make it a chick bike so her 17 year old son wont ride it. straw basket on front, leopard print seat and of course pink touches like your wife's et4.
BTW, it really looks good, very nice work!! dr

Nice scoot Chuck. Pinky Lives!

Tunica does have a pretty good casino. I work for FedEx and have been down there for some meetings.

I will be in Memphis at the end of the month for work and will have to stop by Vespa Mempis and see some of their 2 tone work in person.

Ramrezz and Tikka...

Thanks for the kind words...almost makes me wish I could take credit for the bike!

Ramrezz...

It sounds like your fiance will have a pretty cool scoot when you are done...I'll be expecting to see pictures! And I promise...your strategy with regard to keeping her son from riding it will work! I can definitely attest to that!

Tikka...

You will really like Vepsa Memphis...it is a nice little store. I believe the owner's name is Ron and he is a great person to deal with!

As for the casinos...GOOD LUCK! Perhaps you can fund a new two-tone with your winnings!

If you're going to make a chick bike it should be pink, purple and white. White wicker/straw basket up front as you mentioned. And you have to have the ribbon streamers on the bar ends.

As a joke a couple years ago, I attached some purple streamers to my dad's Vento/UM motors 50cc scooter. Found them at a 99cent store along with a huge pair of sunglasses, I rode the scoot home about 7 miles and got lots of waves and laughs from other motorists, my dad was very embarressed when I pulled up into the driveway ! ...hehehe. Bear.

Those large glasses really worked well !

Cute paint job. Don't think the blue seat goes with the girlie color scheme. Hmmm, maybe some kind of frilly seat cover from Crystal for the next gifting or accessory-buying opportunity?
