Hey guys,
I've had my PX150 "renovation" basically done for the past month and a half with plenty of new/obsessively cleaned parts and it's been running like a champion.

I was having a sticking choke cable, so I pulled the tank and was pretty shocked to find the brand new green SIP fuel line hazy and pretty damn stiff. Is this normal? Either way, I'm not pleased with how hard this line is already and am going to change it out. What's the best line to use that will stay flexible with ethanol gas?

I've been putting Stabil in the tank (I thought it wouldn't hurt to use it year round) are there reasons not to?

Thanks all

We use good ol 5/16" rubber fuel line from any auto parts store.

Let's see some pics of the renovation!

It's been covered before.

Those clear "Euro" hoses turn hard as a rock before you know it. Don't use 'em unless you want to replace it constantly. Use DOT rated SAE fuel hose.

I was told that it has something to do with the fact that Europe only uses E5 or less ethanol fuel (they don't have the same Big Ag lobbyists that we do), and our E10 just kills the tubing. I don't know if that's true or not, but if this were happening in Europe they wouldn't be selling that hose.

Edit:
It would be interesting to find out if those who use E0 fuel 100% of the time do not have this problem.

Excellent - thanks guys. I was hoping to find a transparent line (like the original but more resistant to E10), but in the short term, I'll grab some of the black stuff from Adv Auto Parts.

I've been too busy riding to take proper pics ,
I'll post them on this thread once I'm done:

In a pinch any auto shop store will serve your needs.

I like using Motion pro premium clear fuel line. So far it has remained pliable over several years, even with the ethanol additives.

I've considered using those, but they tend to be thin walled and I was concerned about having a big gap around the airbox entrance right over the wheel and possible kinking inside the frame, so went with classic black fuel line.

I understand your concern with the largeframe fuel routing, the smallies are pretty straight forward. I use the clear 1/4" version with a quick connect and bgm fast flow tap (no problems with fuel starvation). I had the 5/16" but found it a bit bulky, now if I had tuned 200 or fuel hungry beast I'd step up the diameter.

I like using Tygen which might be the same stuff SIP uses. I gets hard after a while but I use that to my advantage as it doesn't kink. Never had an issue with Tygen. Although I have not used it on Vespasian, just motorcycle, outboards, mopeds and a snowmobile.

Only if it says "Clear" or "Ethanol Free" or "E0" on the pump.
