Did a short ride this weekend in Kettle Moraine State Forest in SE Wisconsin with MadisonSully, gitder, Consumerboy and myself. Weather was awesome for the end of October. The topography is rather unique, with "kettles," or depressions and "moraines" (hills) left by the retreating Ice Age glaciers. Met for coffee and a bite and took off for the ride.

The official ride was about 50 miles, although everyone road some distance to get there. I tallied 111 miles with the shortest route. Seemed like everyone with a PTW had the same idea with seemingly as many bikes as cars at times. There were moments of sheer magic with curvy road, red, yellow and brown leaves in the trees and leaves drifting down like snowflakes onto the road in filtered sunlight.

Consumerboy passed his Wisconscoot initiation in a gravel parking lot. Best we could do at the moment. Seems to be a theme going here....

Not the entire route, but enough of it.

Bit of off-road riding.

Thanks for pulling the ride together, Fledermaus. Enjoyed it a lot and learned a bit (although just today - about kettles and moraines ).

My first 'group' ride. Really enjoyable scenery and nice guys to ride with. I was definitely the novice in ridehours, but I was competitive with number of scooters owned

You did well. Nothing wrong with novices, except of course when they make it too obvious. We all start somewhere. Small rides like this one are a good starting point. Now that you're initiated, if you want to ride out to Amerivespa next year, go for it!

BTW, thanks for bringing your shiny new scooter to be admired.
Just a word to the wise, I wouldn't leave the keys in it around MadisonSully. He has that look in his eyes.

If you have any extra pics, feel free to share here.

Yes the Seasons are changing
Dave, Rob and Crew,

Thanks for the great photos. A new group guy. I remember
the thrill of my first group rides - sharing your love for these
machines. Just plain good times.

Patched together a bit of video:

Not sure why THAT segment shows on the initial view. Sorry, Robert, your 15 seconds of fame.
