I had been traveling for over two months and home less than two weeks, but I needed a solo scooter trip for the body and the mind. But first I had to fix a scooter. On a post Cannonball inspection, I found that Big Reds coil was broken. I had removed the old one and almost installed the new one through the battery box. However, I could only get two of the four tiny 3mm nuts on. I had done all of this before I left but now it was time to get on with the job and do it right which meant basically tearing the whole scooter apart. If you do this often it is an easy job but when you do it once every couple of years, if at all, it is a jig saw puzzle. All and all it went well and it was done in three hours.

So I was off. I went to EuroCycles the new Vespa dealer to pick up parts for ADKJim and then visited old friends in Wildwood, back over to deliver ADKJim’s parts and he rode up to Newberry with me where I overnighted in the country. Next day up to Moultrie Georgia to watch Capt. Gary flog scooters which he did somewhat successfully. He sold a GTS to Vanessa from Knoxville who had a Vespa on her bucket list for ten years. She and her husband where last reported zooming around Daytona having a great time. From there I headed back south to Perry and the Hampton Inn that used serve liquor and margaritas at their happy hour but sadly only beer and wine now. Next day zoomed home with a clear mind and settled scooter spirit. Six Hundred and fifty miles of pure joy.

Nice write-up and photos. Thanks for posting. Glad to know the trip was therapeutic as intended. A visit to your blog was also worth the tap and time to read. Thanks.
