Hello!

About to get my old (well oldish 96 ) px 200 out of a friends garage where it has been sitting under covers for the last year and a bit

Looking for a bit of advice,

Im thinking i need to drain the fuel and put fresh fuel in, maybe drain gearbox oil and replace that, obviously bit of air back in the tyres and kick it over ( will of course get it registered again ).

Anyone with some other opinions ideas please fill me in.

Hoping it will go as good as i remember!

Thanks in advance!

Did you drain the carburetor before storing it? If not, itll need a good cleaning. Do you have a battery? Itll need a charging or replacement.

Rest sounds like a good list to get things rolling. Anything else you can tackle as it comes.

i turned the fuel thingy to off and let the fuel run out before storing it ( draining carb yeh). Im led to believe its best letting fuel run out at the end of a day riding ??? thanks for the reply!

Good man for running it dry. You don't need to let it run dry everyday, just when you're gonna store it for a bit. It helps prevent gas turning to gel and blocking the small passages in the carb.

Personally I wouldn't do anything right off the bat other then making sure the wheels stay in and you can stop.

I would run it as-is with the current fuel. If it's low, just top off with new fuel and use it up!

I'm no expert but I'm chiming in because I want to get my 'post numbers' up. Also I purchased a P which had been sitting for several year. Tank gunked up with old gas so we cleaned it and carb needed to be cleaned and replaced spark plug. Now she runs Great!
