Hi everyone... so I wake up this morning and get a cup of coffee... not a lot going on today, so my wife and I start talking about things to do...
Watching the weather, I was noticing the horrible it was around the country... miserable... so cold...
We live in San Diego... therefore are wimps when it comes to the weather...
I suggest maybe a little ride up the hill... my wife steps outside and starts shivering... 'Too cold...'... we look up today's forecast and it says 'Partly cloudy and 70 degrees'... we really are wimps... so we decide to brave the cold and head out...
First... another cup of coffee... too warm for a hot drink... so had to do the iced coffee and frap thing...

Tried to post a short video clip from my iPhone... unsuccessful... any tricks I should know? Suggestions?
Old Julian Highway is a great ride... fun road... lots of turns... makes you feel like you're out in the country even though you're only 20 min out of town...
Goat country...

So... had to stop for some food... my wife found a 'Farm to table' place on the main drag in Ramona... called Marinade on Main... been there once before and was delicious.
Had to do the comfort food thing... had a couple of Caprese grilled cheese sandwich with tomato basil soup... perfect thing for a chilled ride... my wife forgot to remind me to take a photo... but here's the restaurant...

So then back home after lunch...
Rode down Highland Valley... nice road that takes you down through the grasslands... a few more wineries... orange and avocado groves... and back home...
Had to take a few pics of wifey with the rides...

0 this am when I left for work, and it warmed up to all of 16F, not a lot of snow but what we have is not melting with those temps. But there is a motorcycle show in Toronto Canada this weekend.. and I have plans to attend the 1 in Chicago next month..which will be cold, bitter and a 4 hour drive..but I have 2 paid vacation days to use...
My rides are waiting for warmer weather while I sit and envy you and the wife and your great ride. Thanks for sharing...

I hate you!

Ok, just kidding.

Nice pictures and good ride report. Thanks for reminding us what we have to look forward to... But it sure is cold here! Even upstate South Carolina got hit with 5" of snow last night, and now it's way too cold to melt. Black ice overnight has closed almost everything for tomorrow morning, even churches.

Looks like this Old Coot's scoot will be parked a while.

70? 70!!??

Sigh....

Keep it coming -- the rest of us need to see that light at the end of this long, dark, endless, cold, snowy tunnel.

Wimps? I'm right there with you. I am from South Florida , spent the first 50 years of my life there, and anything under 50 feels too cold to ride. It used to be 60 was my cutoff point, but I have been up here for 10 years and I guess I'm starting to get used to it.

When I got up this morning it was 17 degrees.
I've never lived in Florida but it's looking pretty good right now.

" Storm Tracker"
I was born and raised here in SoCal... San Diego... Went to school up in the Bay Area for a few years (Beautiful, but couldn't stay... too cold)... I don't know how you guys do it... tougher than I am...
Just wanted to let you know though... It all evens out in the end... Just saw our local evening news... The "Storm Tracker" says our warm weather ends tomorrow... expect 60 degrees... and a "Storm" that may drop up to a tenth of an inch of rain at the coast... Gotta go find my umbrella... pray for us...
