Anyone else found that the centre stand gets "gunked up" after a while?

I'm waiting for dry weather to get down and give it a clear out, but mine rocks off the centre stand but doesn't then retract fully. I have to give it a nudge with my boot. The spring hasn't broken, I can see that from the right hand side of the bike, but it's got lazier.

I find mine on the bv350 comes a little loose and rocks side by side more and then doesn't retract so readily!

There's a thread on overhauling the center stand: BV350 center stand

I've never had a problem with mine. I put a little grease on it occasionally.

I use White Lithium Grease on mine once a year. Seems to work.

When mine started doing that, it turned out that one of the mounting tabs
had broken off. Based on several threads here, that is not an uncommon
problem. You might want to check.

I have had that happen on a few different scooters. I just go to the hardware store and get a stronger spring. works every time.

The first time I did my commuter scooter, I only wiped some grease on the pivot sleeve. One year later, I had to redo it. Then I forced as much grease in the crankcase hole as possible. Been two years and it doesn't stick. That's how I did it to Scoot Life. I prefer to learn from other peoples mistakes. This time people can learn from my mistake.

Being we are on the subject, have any of you guys gone up or down a curb? Have you experienced bottoming out? I thought it was because my center stand was not up all the way. I checked it again it was up same curb at work and it hits.

Have someone video you while doing this. Could be the force of the front wheel dropping down overcomes the spring. Does your center stand operate smoothly?
