What differences will the U.S. Vespa Gts have from the 2016?

The genuine 2017 models have some marked differences, some good (side stand) others debatable (front suspension and remote locking for the glovebox), some bad (the tool kit follows the seat rain cover into history). And new colours, obviously.

Maybe the U.S. distributor wants to clear his unsold 2016 inventory before bringing the new models in?

I thought it unlocked the glovebox too. It also has 'find your scooter' function which must surely be the answer to a question no one was asking!

Just give a carbed bike without all the bells and whistles. Not as much to go wrong and we don't have a good dealer, which makes it worse. That said i love the tire pressure monitoring system that i put on the LX. Easy to do and it's within 1 or 2 PSI . I still check the PSI manually to make sure tho. Not as frequently. Getting to the valve stems on the LX is a real PIA so it's worth the money.

Personally, if I wanted a GTS/ABS I'd run out and buy a 2016 while they are still available. I have been completely pleased with my 2015 ABS. I see nothing coming in 2017 that is worth waiting for.

for the 2017 USA, some new colors, and one trim level later in the season. No engine changes or chassis changes. USA scoots never got a sidestand as standard. We have a 2017 GTS Super here, and we can confirm it still has a toolkit, but it does appear that the rain cover for the seat is gone. We did not get the Euro 4 model

GTS
MSRP: $6,799
Colors: Midnight Blue (limited stock), Grigio Dolomiti, Nero Vulcano
Available: NOW

GTS Super
MSRP: $6,899
Colors: Nero Lucido, Montebianco, Rosso Dragon
Available: NOW

GTS Supersport
MSRP: $6,999
Colors: Grigio Titanio
Available: NOW

GTV
MSRP: $7,599
Colors: Verde Portofino Available: NOW

(Vespa 946)RED
MSRP: $10,499
Colors: Rosso Dragon.
Available: NOW

GTS Touring
MSRP: $6,899
Colors: Rosso Metallizzato Available: Q2

For 2017 the GTS family gets a new family member. Joining the GTS, GTS Super and Supersport, will the new GTS Touring. Previously not imported to the Americas, we will be offering the GTS Touring in a beautiful Rosso Metallizzato (Metallic Red) later this season. The GTS Touring adds to the GTS with a front rack and fly screen for an amazing price.

Available to order now, is the sought-after GTV in Verde Portofino. For the 2017 model year, this model is available as a limited-edition.

Hi, I just joined the Forum since I bought a new Vespa GTS 300 ABS.

I have to say I love my new scooter but some things I do not understand from Vespa. Like simon64ds already wrote the new Vespa GTS 300 does not come with a toolkit and seat cover, personally I don't think that should be so pricey for Vespa to have those still included... Further I really enjoy the scooter it's nothing short of wonderful and handles like a dream also the ABS brakes are perfect.
One other thing that surprised me is that my dealer has trouble ordering the correct Vespa alarm for the bike ... he already ordered one 2 times but told me it's not the correct one (wrong connector or some thing). It seems the 2017 GTS has some different wiring and connectors. I will see when he comes back to me for the 3rd appointment to build the alarm in..

it has two options ...that i found so far one to open the seat and something called " the bike finder" ... when you push one of the buttons it makes the alarm lights blink so you can " find" your bike. I hope it also works with my hopefully soon to be installed alarm...

Yes, because they are, essentially, left over 2016 models. So you guys can look forward to o losing the ESS (and toolkit) sometime in 2018.

Be very interesting to see what front suspension is on the Touring model, when it arrives in the US later this year, as that should be the first one you get with the revised set up.

I don't think so. I would guess (and it is only a guess) that it's the rise in warranty claims trying to sort out the 'clonk' that some bikes exhibit. It certainly wouldn't put me off from buying one!

2017 USA GTS still have the ESS front end.

Not sure why they are going away from it in Europe. We've never had a warranty claim on the new ESS front end, and in our opinion works so much better.

Thank you for pointing that out. I previously owned an '08 GTS with the old front suspension. The ESS suspension on my '15 GTS is superior in my experience.

Is Rosso Dragon a new color or is that just the same red they always have had? Also is the Super Sport still a Matt paint?

AMA it's a TireGuard. Got mine from Amazon a while back. Wasn't cheap $149 but it's accurate (within 1 or 2 PSI when using a manual tire gauge). The rear tire has no room to get a accurate reading (especially with my RA in my hands) so that's why i bought it. Here's a pic of the one i got.

yes, same red as 2015, they skipped having rosso dragon in 2016.

Yes, still a matte on the SS

Hardly, if the roads I traversed in France a bunch of years back are still a relevant example. Hence the reason I'm glad my GTS has ESS.

It will be 4 years next April. Two cannonballs and 35,000 miles on two wheels since then. While it will never be the same it is functional.

We have those here now. Maybe you'll get them next year? We also have a new matte yellow for the 'supersport'. You guys, generally, seem to be about a year behind us. Maybe they row them across the Atlantic to save shipping costs?

That appears to be correct. No reports of mechanical failures, but many reports of individuals pleased with the performance of the ESS front suspension. Count me among them.
