Yayy!

Still hoping to go, just need to make sure my ducks are in a row for it...

BTW, does the "carb rebuild challenge" involve donuts?

We might be able to make that happen

Camping near the rally
Hello, My wife and I are planning on coming up for the rally, and would like to know of any campgrounds nearby to the rally to stay at instead of the hotel ( the rates seem a bit high to us). Does anyone up in that area know of decent campgrounds, and their proximity to the rally events? And , maybe more importantly, any places to definatly NOT go to? We have a travel trailer camper. Thanks

Re: Camping near the rally
This being a city, I don't know if you'll find campgrounds very close in. One possibility might be Lebanon Hills, a Dakota County park. It would necessitate crossing the Minnesota or Mississippi rivers on highway bridges or taking the long way around through St. Paul.

www.co.dakota.mn.us/parks/parksTrails/LebanonHills/Pages/lebanon-hills-campground.aspx

I know nothing about camping, but I'll ask around.

Edit:
Another one might be Baker Park in the Three Rivers Park District (Hennepin county):

And at Mystic Lake Casino:

Thank you for looking into the camping thing for me. I did find that one as well, and actually was going to book a site there, but was going to look a little more into its proximity to the events. And since we are out of towners ( way out of towners, about 15 miles from the IL border on the east side of WI) , we didn't want to have to struggle to much on finding our way around, so last night we booked a room at the Ramada hotel that's just a stones throw from the Holiday Inn express. Our hopes is that if we need it, we can just tag along with someone leaving the Hol-Inn!
Now, all we need to do is register for the rally and send in our shirt sizes, then we are all set!

Not to worry. I'm planning to lead a group from the Holiday Inn to the first events. There's a route but it may not be easy to find for out-of-towners. Look for more details as we get closer to the event.

Looking forward to meeting you at the rally! When are you coming?

Good to hear. Linda and I get lost pretty easy, especially in a city setting! We will be coming in early evening on the 10th (Thursday). I'm shooting to get out of work at noon, and have my wife meet me there with the loaded trailer and head out right from there. Its 5 1/2 hrs drive according to google without stopping to pee or grab a quick bite to eat.

2017 Land of 10,000 Scooters Pre-Ride
The Twin Cities Scooter Collective, that sponsors and organizes
the Rally this August, held a Pre-Ride and opened attendance up
to the local Heckys Angels riding group. We met at Go-Moto, one
of our local scooter shops, and headed out on amazing Parkways,
Lakes, and back roads between Minneapolis and St Paul. 18 riders
attended. Here with a few photos.

August is just around the corner already.

Better get off my bottom and pull things together. Sister lives across the river in Wisconsin, think I'll deliver my 86 y.o. mother there for a visit, and if I'm energized enough and the weather's good, park the trailer and ride into the Cities.

Looking forward to it!

Yeah! Unfortunately it seems the website doesn't want me to register.
Have there been any hiccups before? Plan B?

I'll have at it again tomorrow.

Questions
Getting close! Looks like my wife will be joining me for the event, so I'll be on best behavior.

I had a couple of questions, and thought I had a contact, but no answer. Does anyone have any contact information? Couldn't find it on the website.

Actually, couple of simple questions for now, that perhaps anyone there can answer:

1. Is there trailer parking available at Scooterville per chance? Not staying at a hotel and considering options. Might not be needed but working on logistics.

2. IIRC, the meal at Scooterville is brats and burgers...any veggie options considered? If not we'll look around the area for a Hummus World or something.

Fingers crossed for some great weather and riding!

You could park your trailer at my house if there's no other parking at Scooterville.

Ravenlore might know about veggie options. And I think there are vegetarian places in the Seward neighborhood not far from Scooterville.

Thanks, Kraig. Need to check on the AirBnB we're at. Hopefully they can accommodate us outside of our reserved time. The food stuff isn't a big deal, though some local inspiration is always welcome.

Lucky, I'm sending you a Private Message with route directions. Maybe the routes can also be posted on the 10K Scoots web page -- I'm looking into that. Meanwhile, if anyone else is staying at the Holiday Inn and wants directions, just send me a PM.

Needs more pictures
Thought I'd close out this great event with a few photos. Was a great time, good to see some familiar faces, connect with some MV folks and meet a few new peeps. Good riding, good times. Have to say, I had no idea the Cities had so many bridges, nor did I imagine them to be so picturesque. After Friday's Bridges Ride, I was starting to wonder if they were messing with me and we were just crossing over the same 5 bridges all day.

Nice to see riders from New Orleans, Kansas City and the Blundons from Memphis.

My wife was a bit sore from two days of riding (I was impressed) and was going to back out on Sunday. Fortunately for my dignity, two thirds of the people seem to have had the same idea, so just shared a good-by breakfast Sunday and headed home...but shot a short video of the last intrepid riders taking off...
