I'm excited to say that I finally purchased my first Vespa.

It's a 2015 Prima 150

If you guys were in my shoes, what would you do first? Which modifications do you enjoy most? Which ones do you regret? I'm planning to keep it mostly original, definitely no performance modifications in the near future.

This is what's on my radar so far, I'd be curious to hear any thoughts you have on this list.
1. New rear tire (it's pretty slick, I'm surprised how slick it is for only 2700 miles, is that normal?)
2. RAM phone mount for Navigation
3. Tap into running lights for USB power
4. My old GoPro as a dash cam
5. Need to pick up some gloves, I guess something touchscreen compatible would be nice.
6. Music. I need at least a little low volume music while riding. I have a set of AirPods on order. I'll probably just keep one ear in for urgent phone calls and music. Any safety concerns there?
7. A name for her!

I'm sure I'll have more to add to this list as I get to know my Vespa. Thanks in advance for the help!

On the trailer to come home. The canyon dancer handlebar straps were a huge help!

Before you outfit your Vespa, make sure you're outfitted.

Aloha and welcome to the forum from Hawaii. Sweet scooter. Stock tires are fairly crappy. I use Heidenau's. K 62 on the rear and a K61 up front. The 62 is a all weather tire and i find it gives me better traction on muddy roads. I live in the heart of AG land on Oahu. As far a gear that's up to you. Mods to my LX are the LED turn signals. This gives me daytime running light with amber turn signals. Also put on some dog leg brake levers which bring the brake levers in closer ( not as much of a reach). Also put a folding rear rack on. After the rear rack i put a strip of red LED'S that are synced to my brake lights. Noticed when i'm carrying something on the rear rack you can't see my brake lights as well. This should get you started.

Enjoy the fact that you don't have to do all the fixing I am on the 2007 I just bought!

Judy - what kinda license plate is that? Is that a rubber plate backing? How did you run the LED wire to the brake light?

Thanks

Congratulations from the bottom of my heart.

Red is the best color. And the Primaveras are wonderful scooters.

Don't name her/him. It's bad luck.

Congratulations! Scoot accessories will depend on how you intend to use it.

From your post though it sounds like you intend to ride it on the regular. A rear rack, some type of top box, and a windscreen are highly functional add-ons. That and awesome SoCal weather will augment your riding into a "daily driver".

FYI, I run headphones as well- I use cheap $10 Phillips wrap-arounds because they don't move under my helmet. If you figure out how to keep Airpods in place, let me know!

Welcome to the team!

W it's just the plate holder that came with the bike. I attached the LED strip onto it. I can't remember where i got them tho. Crying or Very sad emoticon They've been on for 7yrs at least. One of the first mods i did after i realized you couldn't see my brake light when i had my rear rack down. They are synced with my brake light.

It's a 2015 Prima 150 with a little under 3000 miles. The 3k service has been completed.

. Some of us are going in the other direction. I rode motorcycles for over a decade and have downsized to scootering.

RAM mounts
Can someone please post a link to the beginners kit? I keep finding accessories and things, but I just need the kit for holding a phone, nothing fancy.

Would this work?

Bunny, I use this one;
ChargerCity MegaGrip Bike Bicycle Motorcycle Mount w/Security Strap for iPhone 7 Plus 6s 6 Samsung Galaxy S7 S8 edge Pixel Nexus 6 5 Moto X G Droid LG G5 V20 Smartphone https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005GSST8G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_bY4rzbTSWCYQT
And I know Judy uses this one too.

I like that it not only has a "floor" for the phone to rest on, but it also has the band to go over top of the phone. Plus the holder is rock solid. I've had it for a couple months now and even going 90 or so on the freeway with no windshield, my phone hasn't fallen out.

I have an iPhone 6S+ and it fits nicely in the holder, but smaller phones should work just as well. My only gripe with it is that if I don't have a phone inside of it, it buzzes like crazy. But it's just slightly annoying.

Awesome!
Great price! I mean, yeah, I'll spent the $50+ dollars if it's the only option to keep my $800 phone safe, but if this one is tough enough for the task, I'll gladly save some loot wherever I can seeing as how I have a new (used) Vespa (and myself) to outfit!

Is it difficult to install? Will it fit on GT200 handlebars? TIA

It's easy to install. But I don't think you can install anything onto your handlebars. Most people install them to their mirror stalks.
