Changing the oil. Drain plug torque specs say 24÷30. What is that in lbs. ft?
Oil filter says 12-16. Pounds?
Please advise.

Multiply the Nm specs by .75 and that will give you the foot pound spec..... Nerd emoticon

Thanks!
How do you read 24÷30 to convert to lbs?

24 to 30 Nm is roughly 18 to 22 lb ft. So aim for 20 lb ft.

A drain plug torque of 18 - 22 foot pounds?

And an oil filter torque of 12 - 15 foot pounds?

Wow.. that's way too high on both accounts. A typical car wheel nut is around 22 foot pounds from memory.

Somethings not right here obviously.

scooter-man.. I'm sure someone can help you out with the correct values for the job.

Those figures are straight from the factory service manual. I could include a photo of the page, but anyone can download it. But, they were Newton meters.

130 lb ft for my VW lug nuts. 340 lb ft for the rear axle nuts. I hope your wheels don't fall off...
