Hi everyone,
I am sure that some of you have this information already but I thought I would share.

The OEM graphite exhaust "bearing" or gasket is an expensive little item to replace everytime you change a tire. I found these on eBay for only $12 and they fit perfectly. Make note of the Yamaha part numbers as a FYI just in case this listing goes away. It fit my bike perfectly and I saved some money over OEM.

Here is the link:

Part numbers for your reference:
YAMAHA 3YF-14714-00-00, 1JK-14714-00-00

Don't want to steal your thunder, but I'd found this @ $9.99:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HYspeed-Exhaust-Pipe-to-Muffler-Silencer-Gasket-Connector-Graphite-Seal-17-0011/301843197190?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

Visual comparison to a stock gasket looks about same.

Either way, it's a good alternative to OEM.

And also not wishing to steal the thunder, but it's mentioned in the Wiki.

Well, looky there!

Not a game-changer, but forgot to look in the wiki when replacing mine for the first time.

Here's another one for EUR6, I think it's been mentioned before:

Y'all better get 'em before I stockpile each and every one of 'em, cuz I don't ever want to replace another one of those rear brake lines!

Or y'all could be like me, and get over 30,000 miles on my first gasket on my MP3 500. Razz emoticon Wha? emoticon Laughing emoticon

But then, I only got ~7,700 miles on the first gasket on my GTS...

I gotta admit that in my hubris/ignorance I assumed mine couldn't be going because I always remove the whole exhaust system as a unit, at the head, and have never taken it apart at the gasket.

This, it turns out, is a faulty assumption.

Fortunately, as they say, stupid should be painful. It was. I've learned!

Don't make my mistake and order this ^^^. It is not the same as the 3YF gasket that does fit.
