Freak issue with the first one mate, had to go back the following day.

Scootech played a blinder though and were awesome about it and too be fair apart from dragging their heels a bit with the replacement so were Piaggio.

If your looking for a Scoot in London folks, you wont go wrong with the guys at Scootech.

catching up
Hi guys just catching up.
Hope to go up on the Hunstanton ride out. Last year's was great, with fantastic weather as well. If any London Skoks want to meet up and ride to the start point. How about some where near the North Circular rd, A406, somewhere NE / East. Any suggestions.
The citizens getting the cops to nabb some moped gang scum, Brilliant!, and great to see the police had great tactics and took this crime seriously. Well done all round.
Electric it's the future, hopefully Vespa and Scomadi are working on them and hopefully with classic Vespa/Lambretta, Scomadi style with metal bodies..rather than Batman Stealth style, because there will be lots of those around.
Great to see Gedmunds has gone supersize with a GTS 300. How about a burger meet some midweek, to show it off.
Took some snaps around Portobello Rd last saturday, see below.
Cheers everyone hope you all are having 2 wheel fun in the sun.

Just a note to say I'm back in the UK for three weeks from Wednesday afternoon. Would love to meet up with many, many 'friends of long standing' ('old' friends is becoming a bit close to the bone) - may make a Saturday morning Ace brekky meet or two if nothing else.
It would be lovely to meet up! I don't think I can do any Ace Saturdays, unfortunately, but could definitely find a weekday evening.

Better post something to break the week!

700 quality GTS miles clocked up to Belgian Vespa Days and back last weekend...another MOT tomorrow and she's 10 years old next year.

Some quality photos of the Buckingham Palace run earlier this year...just only classics and a lorra lorra chrome... Our very own Gass on foot in one of the pics.. http://madmodsandacamera.com/gallery/buckingham-palace-scooter-run--alldayer-2018

Well, well: a BMW R90/S (first superbike I seriously jonesed for at the time), some seriously interesting four-wheeled iron here and there, gorgeous European (mostly German?) roads and countryside...and a decidedly American soundtrack? A hoot to watch, even if some of the advice offered would now be considered somewhat questionable, to put it mildly.

Hunstanton
Had to bail out f the run. Got up 6.30, full gear o.. but torrential rain and wind in central London. Got as far as the Bow flyover , re checked weather forecast. It would have meant 9 hours wet riding, so turned back. Looked like all the bad stuff was heading Norfolk way.
Any brave souls make it. Any fish n chips on the front.

On the plus side, I've been to Sweden, which was fantastic!

Vespa Genoa article
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/oct/03/dont-touch-my-vespa-why-genoa-is-threatening-to-ban-its-icon-of-cool

Great article about Vespas and scooters in Genoa and the history of scootering.
Mayor trying to ban them.
Been to Genoa on my scooter, it's a tight twisty city with very steep hills. A scooter is the only way to get around.

If there's that many of them, banning 2 Strokes to reduce pollution sounds sensible to me. People will still be able to ride more modern scooters.

Having been on rides with lots of classic Vespas, I know how much of a cloud of fumes there can be.

Ace day out
Went to the Ace mod sunday. Sorry can't post pics as I drowned my i-phone in a toilet and may have to wait 3 weeks for a repair.
So sunny day at The Ace, and when I was there around 12-2 about 100 scooters turned up, and I saw more on the way when I left. A good strong 4 piece mod band called Serious Chord Squad pumped out Mod, Who, Faces, Jam standards, with a lot of attitude from the singer guitarist. Good Djing with vinyl too.
Clubs turning up I noticed... 4-Nations, Essex Alliance, Wasps of Folham, Foresters, Amalaga, Mysterons, 1% er, Full Circle, The Incroud, Aylesbury S.C.

Noticed a few Scomadis and 4 Royal Alloy, Lambretta lookalikes. Anyone seen one and how do they ride...
So no whats app or pics for me lately. as I have a 20 disposable mobile. so text or call if any Skos stuff going on. 07973 828 423

Yep, and for that reason it's going to be largely irrelevant.
30mph is just too slow, especially at 6k.

Electric cars only became a realistic volume seller when the Leaf offered similar performance to petrol, for similar money and bikes will be the same.

Yep looks like the current 125's styling.. Is the performance equivalent to a 50cc or a 125cc. should be a great nippy shopper, But what will it be like on touring or 2 up, Or will that be for the next GTS size.

The vespa 50s are around 3kW so at 4kW peak power this should offer somewhat better pickup, and right off the line too. Assuming about the same weight.
Unfortunately the continuous power is only 2kW
