The vespa 50s are around 3kW so at 4kW peak power this should offer somewhat better pickup, and right off the line too. Assuming about the same weight.
Unfortunately the continuous power is only 2kW
I imagine it will be sold restricted in the UK in the moped category? How do you derestrict one?

Check out Hand Muff Warrior's videoes on Youtube. I agree with what he is trying to do but I fear he's going to end up live streaming his own death one of these days.

Weller
Went to see Paul Weller at the Southbank. He played with a big orchesta. 12 strings and 4 brass, with also a sitar tabla combo.
His usual band of 5 .. All seated on stools and a mellow vibe.. None of the angry or shouty stuff. Very enjoyable and because you could hear the lyrics and melodies because of the superb accoustics you could really appreciate the skill and maturity of his compositions. Top man and lots of snappily dressed mods out to see the Modfather. i talked to one couple who'd just been to see him play in the Netherlands as a warm up.

True, true. I had to do something to re-invigorate this conversation.
And indeed did elicit at least one response, Bill.

I have nothing to ride at the moment.
I sold my bike at the start of the year after I bought a Mini Convertible as it wasn't going to get used.
I'm starting to get a bit of a twitch now though, hoping to pick up a bargain over winter.

There's a 70th Anniversary GTS I've seen which is a very sensible price and right on my doorstep but it was more than I was planning on spending.

I actually quite fancy a Peugeot Django 125, but all the cheap (sub £1500) ones turn up more than 100 miles away.

I've been forced to take a few extra days holiday before the end of Nov (if you think it's tough having to read my posts then imagine what it's like having to work with me!). Family can't take time off so I was going to take a few days riding between the museums on the South coast of the UK. It will probably be a good test of my new heated waistcoat. Current plans are to go to the Beaulieu motor museum on the first day, then the next day at the Bovington tank museum then the last day at the Etchees (fossil) collection and that village, Tyneham, that was abandoned before the end of WWII to practice for the D-Day landings. I'd also like to see a place called the Ancient Technology centre but I think it's just for school parties. I'm quite looking forward to a little road trip.

I went and got myself a pair of Takeaway trousers as recommended on the scooter skirt thread. Haven't had any bad weather to really test them out but they seem really sound.
Played about with adding some poncey LED lights under the scoot-just to see what they looked like. Quite nice actually!
Did some dressing up for Horror night at school, gave quite a few of the students a good fright!
Currently still riding everyday, on the look out for a good duffle type bag for carrying stuff on my scooter.

Rememberence sunday
Hi , myself, Noel and Grant turned up at Putney riverside for the rideout to the Hyde Park Artillery memorial wreath laying. A centenary of rememberance for Armistice day. A splendid sunny day with about 400scoots. Organised as usual by the Fulham Wasps. The ride from Putney Bridge, where 2 other ceremonies were taking place, blue smoked it's way in more or less a straight line down the fashionable Kings Road to Buckingham Palace and then to Hyde Park corner. Respectfully the wreaths were laid, and some of those by ex service men. Scooterists as far away as Wales, Sheffield, Loughborough and Sussex made the Journey.
Solomn, but a good day for all.

It's all a bit up in the air at the moment but it seems likely I'll be at Beaulieu on the Wed 28th Nov around 11:00am and finally coming back to the big smoke on Friday evening.

Accidentally bought a GTS this weekend. A blue 70th anniversary special edition for less than £3k was too good to resist.

I have a bit of form for accidental vehicle purchases. My first GTS was also unplanned.
This one came up less than two miles from home so I popped over for a look and.... well.....

Yep, it's lovely and stylish, but I'll probably look out for the matching plastic box as it's a bit more secure and won't get ruined if I ride it in the rain.
I see they've changed the design recently, so there's no reflectors (that weren't reflective anyway) any more.

Yep. Bought my Mini Convertible a week before Christmas last year when it was snowing, and the first GTS was a January purchase as well. Much cheapness all round.
