Most of the maxi scooters seem quite fat and heavy, need something with a very low centre of gravity and tight turning circle to be as nimble as I'd like.
How you doing Graham? Long time no see!

That's an impressive mileage Ash! There aren't many scoots with the turning circle AND power of the GTS - I guess the SH300i is slightly better all round but looks like something your mother would ride and doesn't have storage. The XMAX is probably closest to what you're after but it still won't turn like the GTS. You should also try out the Honda NC750X automatic - I know it's a 750cc bike but it's not far off the GTS in tight traffic once you get used to it. The new Italjet Dragster probably has the speed and turning circle you're after but I doubt it will last mechanically like the Vespa and kids would likely steal it anyway.

At least you'll have fun test riding things.

Slice
No issues splitting lanes on the Kymco with all that torque.

Sure it's heavier than a Vespa but once that weight is rolling you really don't notice it.

It will maintain 80 mph all day and all night then inch through the city with no problems.

A GTS feels like a toy now.

I'm OK, Mr Ash! very very busy at the mo' preparing our trip to Australia later this month, and trying to get in touch with our Aussie scooterists! Flying to Singapore for 3 days, then off to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and then Cairns for a month in total!

If your'e looking for a tight circle, then the X10 isn't for you mate, it's like reversing a bloody lorry, and really not a city scooter! Jule's health isn't getting any better, I'm afraid, and we've come to the conclusion that her scootering days could be over, as she finds it more and more uncomfortable as pillion- hence the reason, the X10 days could be numbered.... I'm afraid we ain't getting any younger!!!

Not exactly, its coming up to 97k and I think I should see what is out there for the inevitable replacement.
Think I'm one scooter away from an electric one!
Could be another GTS or the Kymco or maybe an Xmax

I think many of the maxi scooters are too Maxi for my mainly filtering commute, not really needing a motorway bike at all.
97k! Thatís amazing mate. Absolutely amazing.
Electric is coming, but the power and range leaves a lot to be desired right now.
Should just be broken in at that mileage with proper service. Unless you are talking Miles.
It's quite a bit more than broken in unless you are talking bollocks
With proper maintenance no reason these shouldn't go 100,000 miles. Hell Old member here, UFO went 75,000 miles without proper maintenance.

maintenance aside, riding in busy cities like London with the stop/start, traffic light grand prix battering the bike gets, takes a heavier toll on a bikes running gear than freeway riding, 93k miles on a 250cc in London is pretty darn good IMO

Mostly city driving I can agree with that. Plus the abuse on the frame from potholes and such.

Yes, it is! I'm jealous cos I was trying to get my original NC to 100k but it got nicked at 86.
Nicked at 86,000k? Sorry to hear it man. Some pretty hard up bastards out there.

I'd already reluctantly ruled out the X10, not looking to better the turning circle or 'weaviness' of the GTS just looking for something with half decent weave ability. I weave a lot in case you hadn't guessed!
The Kymco 300 seems to tick my boxes better than the 400 at the moment but I'm still unsure. Am visiting the Bike Show when it comes to London next week to sit on a few contenders.
Hope Jules feels better soon, please send her our best wishes.

Be extra careful out there, it's been as windy as I've seen in th elast 10 years round here. Danger of being blown sideways earlier.

Oh, he's probably just a poor individual from a home with a drunken father who beats him and a mother who sells herself to put food on the table.

He was just trying to add to the family income. Oops, sorry, you're talking London and I'm thinking Detroit.
Detroit eh? Come to our rally in August and see if you can hack it

That's a superb bit of design, and they are dirt cheap too.

£2100 on the road is just crazy

They look really good close up also.

Great for a cheap and fun little runaround.
