We are heading back to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. We heard so many great things about Scoot Jockey's and the great AV that they produce, so let's meet up again next June in Lake Geneva, my friends!

From Scoot Jockeys:
Club Scoot Jockeys of Lake Geneva would like to thank the Vespa Club of America and their team for the chance to host this prestigious event once again.... We are so humbled to be chosen for the 2nd time, and we will do our very best to honor this incredible opportunity. We would also like to thank all of you scooter junkies out there who were advocates for bringing Amerivespa back to Lake Geneva. Ever since 2012 we continued to hear your kind words about our event and apparently the VCOA was listening because we are doing it again!... We promise to give you the very best rally we can and to make 2019 one to remember. Our little lake town is already preparing for another crazy scooter bunch and we can't wait until next year! Thank you.

Seeing as how I purchased my first scooter 3 months AFTER the last one there, maybe I need to go.

And besides, its barely 2 hours away.

Lake Geneva Wisconsin
I also missed the last rally at Lake Geneva. I plan on attending in 2019
and probably will ride over from Minnesota with several others.

Well, considering it's 2 hours from here, we're probably going to find a room there. OTOH, if you don't mind house sitting........

Third week in June. That could change, but plan on that tentatively. We will make a final announcement in August when website updates are published as well.

Need to decide dates soon as I looked at Big Foot Beach State Park for camping and they apparently book up a year in advance. The spots for a camper were already booked for the first week of June 2019.

If it were me, and it was refundable, I would book the third week of June. The rally should begin that Wednesday evening. Again, this could change, but to secure my spot that's what I would bank on. There are things that we have to plan, like a host hotel that hasn't been decided, so we don't have a firm date as we are in the very initial planning stages of AV19.

I tried that already but missed the boat. I looked last week using a 2 week period to reserve so I would catch that week but they were already booked. I guess one has to be online at midnight!

There doesn't seem to be many campgrounds in the area. I looked at Coachman's Terrace but the website does not provide much information so I emailed them. Reply was that they cannot take reservations a year in advance but I can pick a site and they will let me know if it is available. That didn't make sense so I emailed back. Still waiting.

We are looking into a few options including a field to camp, actually!

Hotels are underway, no decision made yet. We will continue to keep everyone in the loop though.

Camping
Hi all -

There are 73 spots available at Big Foot Beach State Park in Lake Geneva for Amerivespa. Only 15 of those spots left have electrical hookups. Price is from $28 for electric, $15 for non-electric.

For more information please check out the Amerivespa Camping Page on the AV website

The WI State Park system apparently has a new booking system and just went on line this morning. I was able to reserve a spot with electrical hook up in Big Foot Beach State Park for the dates of Amerivespa 2019.

Anyone else staying there? We will be arriving on Tuesday, 6/18 and leaving on 6/24.

Yes! Randy and I plus our daughter will be coming up from Florida. Steve Galvan (Maine) also has a reservation at the park.

Heads up on WI State Parks
It appears that even though one has a reservation in Big Foot Beach State Park, you are still required to buy a vehicle admissions pass. The vehicle pass is $38 plus you need to buy one for each scooter. If the scooter is registered at the same address as the vehicle, it is $20.50.

Now I will have the truck plus two scooters so that is an additional $79 to stay at the state park.

I camped at the State Park there in 2012, partly because Mrs Wmak came along and she doesn't ride, and we had a newish teardrop. I was a little disappointed with the facilities at Big Foot Beach, so I'm riding the scoot up and staying in the hotel this time. The park was handy to the festivities, but I'll sleep in the ac this time.

Big Foot does have some sites with electric hookups but no water or sewer hookups.

I asked for clarification on the issue of vehicle admission stickers as it was unclear if one had to pay $38 for the tow vehicle and then an additional $20.50 for each scooter. In my case this would be $79 on top of the camping fees. Since we will be riding the scooters once settled in campground, it appears we will be paying $38 for parking the truck for 4 days.

Here is the response I received on the question of vehicle admission stickers for the scooters:

Good morning Barry,

Upon your arrival to the park and payment of the vehicle admission fee for your truck, the park staff will be able to issue you courtesy admission stickers for your camper and your scooters; these courtesy stickers will allow the same access and privileges as a vehicle with an annual or daily admission sticker, so you will be able to ride the scooters in and out of the park.

Thank you again, and if there is any other way we can help you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We are committed to service excellence.
Visit our survey at http://dnr.wi.gov/customersurvey to evaluate how I did.

Rally Question
From a Newbie.
1. Even though I registered for the rally in June, I have yet to receive any confirmation that it has been received although the money was charged to my credit card. Is this good enough for a confirmation.
2. Also joined the Vespa club. Haven't heard a word from them either. Normal?
3. Trying to register for the concourse can't seem to get it to work. Shot an email last week, still no answer. In the registration any idea what *_* means?
Thanking you in advance for any help. -DucGirl

I just book a room for the event at Harbor Shores. They still had rooms
available in the rally block of rooms for the rally.

You can select rooms that are Lake View or not. The difference is about
$100 for a Lake View for the four nights. I selected non Lake View because
I only sleep in the room. Four nights with tax $663.

I am more than likely attending and sharing a room with one of my Minn-Max Scooter Riding Group. Cost splitting a room for $331.50 each for four nights is not bad. The ride down from Mpls MN is 355 Miles.

Possibly not available yet. I have not seen a schedule of events.

Looking forward to meeting some of you from Modern Vespa.

After I registered back in September I received a confirmation for the Amerivespa rally, from "FormSmarts (formsmarts-noreply (at) syronex.com )". Perhaps if you didn't see a copy in your email you should check your Spam folder. You could contact Vespa Club of America again if you don't get some confirmation soon.

I also received confirmation from Harbor Shores, and VCOA sent email and a new member package with stickers, pin, etc.

Looking forward to meeting some MV'ers again this year!

The wife and I registered for Amerivespa today. We booked a cabin at the Lake Geneva Motel. They have 5 or 6 cabins and a bunch of regular rooms, nothing special but there’s plenty of parking for the trailer and the cabins are okay. $150 per night. It’s about 2-3 blocks from Harbor Shore and they allow dogs!

Representatives from the Gem City Rollers of Dayton, OH will be leaving on Tuesday and arriving mid-day on Wednesday.

I saw the schedule of events has been released. It looks like a lot of fun starting on Wednesday night.

BUT....why is the Gymkhana on Sunday at 11 am? That bums me out since my crew from Dayton will likely be leaving early Sunday morning. One of my fav events to participate and observe.

If you are looking for trailer parking, give a call to Midwest Action Cycle, they have quite a bit of room on their property and I am pretty sure they will let people park their trailer there.

I can’t swing the financial to go, medical bills come first and I got a bit crazy and downgraded my mpg and upgrading my auto debt, but I really like the change in ‘cages’ and now have ‘local’ dealership I know and trust for all that under warranty stuff.
But I am buying raffle tickets and that son living across the tracks is planning to buy some (mom will NOT share her scoots). Hope all who are going have a really awesome time and stay safe!
