![]() See you guys in beautiful Lake Geneva
I hadn’t been through Lake Geneva for years, but when I heard that Amerivespa was going to be there in 2019, I had to take a short trip up from Chitown to see whether I remembered it well. Joni’s was still there, so I stopped by for breakfast then tooled around the lake a bit, everything as I remembered it from my midwestern scuba diving days.
I’ll see everybody in June at my 2nd Amerivespa. I enjoyed Richmond immensely last year, and the adventure of riding from Chicago, all the way there and back was incredible. But I’m happy to have the rally in my backyard this year. I’m thinking ahead to next year already too. Thinking west coast (I think that’s a safe prediction), and how to get there and back. That’ll be a hoot! TravlinMan |
![]() Rented a Nissan Frontier pick up truck to haul my GTS300 to Lake Geneva. The bed is small so the rear Vespa tire will sit on the open tail gate. She'll be strapped to the front anchors and I think the rear will also be strapped down. Do I need to worry about the tailgate bouncing over bumps with the rear Vespa tire on it?

![]() I think you will be okay. I have seen other bikes transported with the tailgate down with no problem.
On a side note, we will be in your area on our way to AV2019. We will be there the night of June 16, staying at the KOA in Thompson OH for 2 nights so we can visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. |

She’s dropping off the shirts for AV2019, she made them this year; then we’re going to visit some Frank Lloyd Wright sites in Wisconsin before AV kicks off. Just spent a night in Spring Green (near Taliesin). Great little coffee shop/bookstore in town....and Freddy Valentine's is a pretty nice restaurant. |

![]() Thanks for all the info on flatbed hauling. I already fashioned a front wheel chock and holder out of pressure treated garden wood. Heavy as heck.
Also plan on removing the wind screen. Should I put the cover on the scoot and shock cord it down? Are canyon holders necessary or can I use the hook on the strap? |

I would not put a cover on as they will blow off and/or scratch the paint. I use canyon straps as they are the best and easier. Hope that helps and sure others will chime in. Barry |

![]() Re: AmeriVespa 2019
Looking forward to meeting some of you from Modern Vespa.
Bob Copeland Frost Bite Falls Minnesota[/quote] Hi Bob, in viewing the pic of you with the red scoot, I think your seat doesn't seem to have the ridge separating the rider from pillion passenger. That ridge cuts across my butt and is obviously uncomfortable. I contacted both CHEEKY SEATS AND CORBIN but it's a costly proposition to tailor me a seat. How did you get it flat or is that from years of sitting on the ridge? Leaving friday morning to Geneva and will see you there. Ralph |
