Great Rally Heavily Attended
My Minn-Max Riding Group had a scheduling conflict last year. We rode to
Door County Wisconsin when the Rally was on in 2017. I hated missing this
super event. I have attended all prior years - won't miss it again. Even though I did not attend last year, I still registered and got the T-Shirt and Swag Bag.

Here with a couple of photos from this super rally:

Hotel Suggestions - Twin Cities Land of 10K Scooters

I am driving in from Arizona and I am trying to find a hotel that is more or less central and possibly other visitors may be staying at? I am also considering AirBNB options and looking for a place a scooter would be safe.

Hmmm, I see the hotel info on Landof10kscoots.com is still TDB.

If this helps, last year's hotel was the Holiday Inn Express in Golden Valley (6051 Golden Hills Drive) and some people stayed at the Ramada nearby (6300 Wayzata Boulevard). I led some groups from the hotels to the scooter venues. Others I know stayed at an AirB&B in Roseville, I think. (Fledermaus, is that right?)

The Golden Valley hotels were not a bad option. A little far from the scooter events but there's enough parking for trailers and there are easy scooter friendly routes to the rally. Downtown Minneapolis or the University of Minnesota would be closer but they'd be more expensive and parking would be a big problem.

You could also look at hotels along the "494 strip" in Bloomington. I live in Bloomington, and could probably lead a group to the rally if there's a need.

PM me if you wish.

RALLY ON!

I did contact the organizers who told me that they weren't doing the room block in a hotel because, IIRC, NOBODY used it last year. May have used the hotel, but likely went elsewhere, as we did. I can't recall our location last year, but I think you're right, Kraig. My wife thought it was too out of the way (as far as I was concerned, only meant more scooter time).

Oakwood Joe suggested Delta Hotels Minneapolis Northeast as both reasonably well located for the rides and easy trailer parking/access. Rates are really cheap, too, I think $111 prepaid. https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/mspde-delta-hotels-minneapolis-northeast/ We will be there, so feel free to join us....it's always more fun getting a scooter posse together to go to the rides anyway. We're arriving Friday morning first, FWIW.

Greetings and thank you for the recommendations so I have not booked a hotel or AirBNB yet. I am going to be so lost it will be wonderful.... I looked at Delta - $166 a night. I have stayed at Kimpton and it seems a little more central for about the same amount of dosh. Did you get $111.00 rate? Any riders staying at the Kimpton? Any better suggestions?

Parking may be more of a problem at the Kimpton. Extra cost for valet parking in a downtown parking ramp. I don't know about parking for your scooters. The Delta looks okay as far as I can see. I believe other people have stayed out in that area in past rallies.

I did get the $111. It was the prepay/non-refundable rate. I suspect as the event is around the corner they don't give that option.

Still, I checked just now and a king is $139. Can save a few by joining their rewards. Unless I missed it, parking is free.....

Ah, now I see where you got the higher rate....breakfast for two adults.....

As long as others are staying at the Delta, Ill go for there. It just seemed a bit farther away from the events. You don't dive on the highways do you? Im just not keen on riding Vespa on real roads.

Correction: I got the wrong weekend for this. However, road construction continues...there are alternate routes.

The "real" road is likely to be closed that weekend anyway.

MnDOT says crews will begin closing the on and off ramps for I-35W about one to two hours before closing the interstate. Officials add the closure is needed for two major projects, the 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown (utility installation on I-35W between Interstate 94 and Highway 62) and The I-35W Resurfacing Minneapolis to Roseville project (work on I-35W between I-94 and Highway 280).

That's not all.

MnDOT says a similar closure is tentatively scheduled for the following weekend from 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 through at 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6.

I'd suggest crossing the river to Minneapolis at either the Hennepin Ave. or Franklin Ave. bridges.

Friday Morning Rally Meeting MOJO Coffee Gallery
The Rally kicked off with coffee/breakfast in NE Minneapolis, which has turned into a "Art District" in the Twin Cities. The local TV news showed up for a
live shot of the event.

Twin Cities Scooter Club - thank you all - especially Green Vested - Red Shirts!!! The city cruses were outstanding. This has to be a “Do not miss rally”. Incredibly well thought out.

Two thumbs up to the organizers.

Now if we could just get everyone to understand the riding rules.
But that's pretty much a universal problem....

Now, how's about an Amerivespa?
