Like many others I have read about, I would like to my Vespa on a long distance adventure. I am thinking that 200 mile days seem to be reasonable from my point of view. Saturday I found myself with nothing to do, so I thought a nice 200+ mile test ride was in order. I ended up at 211 miles total. I was dressed in full gear in 100 degree heat. The heat was not bad while riding, but anytime I was stopped was pretty miserable.

Great photos. Iíll be doing the same thing once the temps drop a bit. How many hours was your ride?

Great pictures! You didn't get the wide angle with an ordinary pocket camera or phone, did you?

Left earlyish in the morning for about three hours ride, had lunch for about an hour, then took about three hours to ride back.

The ride was most of the day

Negative on the selfies.

Not too many stoplights, so the sweating was manageable.

Stoplights - The bane of PTW riders everywhere. Particularly those in South Texas dangling over black asphalt.

Very Nice Photo Adventure
Jplanaux,

Great shots and you have that great "Dragon Red" scooter. I also like
your front and rear chrome racks - well configured. Maybe it is the heat
down in Dixie, but you do not have a windshield.

Great pics, looks like 200 miles of pretty scenery. How'd you feel afterward? 100 degrees is no joke!

Patience grasshopper. I have not yet finished accessorizing the scoot. The windshield is bubbling up to the top of the list.

I have hopes and dreams to take this scoot on some longer journeys. 200 miles per day seems like a reasonable distance per day, hence why I made this journey - to test what it feels like to ride 200 miles. This 58 yo felt pretty good.

Windshield in the Future
jplanaux,

Your the man. When I got my 300 Super, I was just going to pop around town
without a windshield. I had routinely used my Burgman 400 for longer rides.

I realized the Vespa 300 had long legs and could go anywhere at express way
speeds. Problem, my body acted like the sails on a sailboat pushing me
backward tiring out my arms on long rides. I bought the Vespa medium sized
windshield and love it. I think it was $244.99 installed.

Ride Safe
