12 members of our Minn-Max Scooter group spent four days in
Amish Hill country in SW Wisconsin. We anchored at the Ramada
Inn in Richland Center and rode out each day. The area offers
an abundance of Hills, sweeps, valleys, and tree covered roads.

The members rode CanAms, Piaggo MP3, Vespa 300, Burgman 400-650,
and Honda Silverwings.

This SW Wisconsin area has long been a favorite motorcycle touring
destination. The hotels, food and drink are very reasonably priced.
The scenery is amazing - I apologize for mostly photo shooting the riders
at stops and dinning.

Looks like you guys had a great time. Nothing wrong with photos of scooters and dining. Two of my favorite pursuits actually.

Weather on the Road
Jet,

Thanks for your kind words. We really got a break on Weather.
The Nors God of weather delivered Sunny and Partly Sunny with
65-75 degree temperatures.

There is a bunch of infrastructure money being pumped into the
roads nationally. We had four bridges being totally replaced. We
were able to route around okay. I do know their is internet road
closure information available. We just boldly road and jogged around.

Wisconsin has a strong Diary lobby in their State Legislature. The
majority of all farm section roads are paved (to get the milk out).
In contrast, almost all of Minnesota's farm section back roads are dirt.

This makes Wisconsin a desirable scooter riding area. You just have
to watch out for animals jumping in front of you.

Dirt Roads SW Wisconsin
Dave,

We were successful in avoiding dirt. But, we stayed on the main
county roads. Hwy 131 between Viola and Gays Mills, Hwy 171 between
Gays Mills and Boaz, Hwy D between La Farge and Hwy 58.

We rode up on a fatality motorcycle accident just SW of La Farge at the
intersection of Hwy 56 and Hwy A. Pickup hit a Harley Rider, no helmet,
dead at the scene. I noticed the ambulance did not leave the scene.
I could see the broke up Harley in the cornfield where it had been blasted
to during the accident. Bad deal.

I'll do what I can to keep you in practice.

Too bad about the accident. It's always sobering.
