THE TITLE OF THIS POST SHOULD BE REBUILD 62-63 ALLSTATE. MY TYPO

A friend and I are looking at rebuilding a í62 or í63 Allstate 125 and donít know what carburetor to use. He has both a 20/20 and a 20/15 but we donít know which one, if either, is correct for this engine. Any thoughts?

The 20/15 might be closer to what it came with, but I've used 20/20's on all my motors smaller than 200cc with good results. I just finished installing a 20/20 on a '62 VNB 125 that has a 150 top end. Here's a chart with what's stock and the jetting used.

My 1963 Allstate had a 20/17 carb on it that was original. I upgraded the top end to 150 cc and put on a new 20/20 carb. The 20/20 carb should work fine with the 125 cc engine and would give you some flexibility should you want to upgrade the top end to 150 cc later. I also added the SIP Road 2 muffler and the 20/20 carb works great (after re-jetting).

Thanks guys, I appreciate the quick responses. Your chart, Voodoo, is going to be really helpful. Iíve passed it on to my buddy.

Also, Voodoo, Iíve been following everything youíve been doing with my buddy qascooterÖ thatís really great the way you have been able to help him with so much. I rode his p200 when I visited him last month and you picked out a really good one for him!

What picked out? He found it and schmoozed the seller, I merely approved and that was dead easy. If he hadn't jumped on it, I probably would have.

But I'm glad he got it, he is giving it 10X more love than I would have been able to. Shit, I probably would'a just rode it as is, it was that good. And I'm that bad.

Well, whatever your role, qascooter told me that he was very grateful for your help.
