This medication is interesting.

In the mornings there's a fair amount of rage and uncontrollable bouncing off the emotional red line but by about 3pm things have balanced out and I'm back where I was before it all went south.

Try to imagine all of your thoughts as lottery tickets inside a tombola which is being spun and the thoughts you want to articulate don't spend long enough at the bottom to drop out and just when you think one will fall out the spinning starts again.

It's pretty frustrating

Oh, I bet it is man. Stay strong and you know there are people here that care about you. Yeah we are just "internet friends" but I like to think the bond here is better than most social media sites. People that pop in once in a while don't know what you are going through and not "get" you but rest assured there is a group of us that do.

Thank you that's very kind of you to say that.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but recently I was in the company of two long term friends and at one point one of them started to fracture over something that happened to him years ago and after the sniffles stopped I realised that it hadn't moved me in any way.

I can only guess that the last year and a half has drained me of any empathy for others circumstances and what's left has been focused upon myself and the need to preserves my own sensibilities.

It felt very strange indeed.

That's a fair point as there is a mild fog that I often have to think through most days but I've never related my indifference to others circumstances to the medication.

I just thought that I'd had a fair amount to feel a bit annoyed about and because it's ongoing it was all starting to get on my tits a bit.

I'm actually having to talk myself down from many things that didn't trouble me before but now seem to be pressing my buttons.

It's a very odd state to be in when you feel your anger rising at the smallest thing while reminding yourself that you wouldn't have done this 2 years ago.

"Put it in context" I keep telling myself.

Days
The visit to the Hospital well today.

The good news is that my numbers are dropping nicely so they are happy with my progress.

The bad news is that as this drug is working I'm going to continue taking it at least for the next 2 months so I may well continue to act like an Ass.

Try to imagine that your'e working your body and brain from a panel of instruments from behind your eyes then for a few minutes you leave the room and when you come back someone has barged in and turned all of the dials to maximum then to spite you locked them in position.

That's my day.

The really worrying thing is that I don't remember anything about the train journey home.

Yeah....

To be fair, not remembering train journeys is often a plus.

Sounds like things are progressing well though.

In other news I sat on one of the Benelli 125s at the NEC last week and thought of you. Ridiculous vehicles but I quite fancy one.

I'll be honest. I've been behaving like a total arsehole recently.

I don't know if it's fully a result of the medication that I've been taking or I have a few more demons that I thought after a challenging year and a half.

Now I've always been a bit vocal but recently I've been picking arguments, calling people out and basically being very rude to many of you and that hasn't been pleasant or helpful.

To the people I've been disrespectful to I'd like to apologise. Sorry.

After taking advice from a couple of Moderators I thought it best to step away from the forum because if I don't have have a feeling that I won't have the opportunity to come back.

Take care all of you.

Update
So on the good news front my Eye Specialist says that my right eye has recovered well and I'm only going to lose a bit of sight right in the middle.

Worst damage he's seen from CML followed by the best recovery. I'll take that.

For the condition the new meds are working by keeping it below .25 and anyhing below the point is good.

Finally I'm only seeing one Consultant rather than two.

Consultant 2 was two hours away and it was for an eight minute consultation each month.

Local Consultant was walkable and in contact with Consultant 2 by email so why was I wasting 4 hours of my day ?

I asked the question and they understood.

The fog of the drug plays havoc with memory and linear thought but it's better than the alternative.

I have cataracts in my left eye (right eye beginning to develop) center area to the point I need surgery. During my last exam she placed glasses on me where the lense over my left eye was overlaid with tiny holes. Magically the cataracts seemed to disappear. Maybe this is something they can prescribe to you if and when the time comes.

Update
Just a small update. Last month my BCR-ABL roughly doubled from .21 to .45 which was enough of a concern for my Consultant to instruct me to increase my medication by a third in the hope that it will bring it down so I'm still a work in progress.

Right now I'm having about one blood test a month and then a week later I'll get the results.

Because I'm in the " At risk " category I've been instructed to stay at home for 12 weeks but that was never going to happen as the drug's side affect is hypertension, so to keep me fit and my weight down I've been walking for about 10 miles each day starting around 5.30 am when there's no one around.

I usually don't see another soul for the first couple of hours.

Onwards and upwards.
