changing belt right now.
using .pdfs to do the job.

it says there are 2 washers under the outer bolt.
1 that sits against the turning bearing & then 1 outboard of that (the large grey one seen below), then the bolt.
this is what I have. 1 large washer then the bolt (was very hard to remove).

then a washer inside, against the outter part of the clutch bell.
it sits between the inner bearing and the outter bell.

so am I missing that smaller outer washer that sits between the bearing and the large grey washer?

or was that washer on the inside against the bell and the bearing?

do I need a trip to the wardware store asap?

i placed that outer large gray washer against the outter cover bearing and it does sit up on the metal on the inside of the bearing. i see no signs that outter large gray washer was rubbing against the orange bearing seal.

if I need to buy a washer that sits between the grey large washer and the bearing inner metal race anyone have a pic?

I assume it should be just large enough that it just sits on the inner metal part of the bearing and not into the seal area of the bearing.

thanks!

5 seconds in.
that sure looks like the same thick washer that was against my bell when the cover came off.

so this washer has to have the same ID as the larger grey washer to fit of the the threaded shaft.

then it has to the an OD large enough to fully sit on the inner bearing race but not so large it sits in the area of the bearing seal. it must just just must sit only on the metal inner race metal shoulder area.

anyone have a spare to mic it???

no wonder my bolt needed an impact gun to get off.
the single large washer worked but the inner smaller washer must help with bolt removal.

the smaller washer is so the bearing does not bind when torquing down the nut. small washer first large washer then the nut. the inside spacer is correct.

the spec should be in the parts diagram description.

thanks.

there was a witness line on the larger outer washer so I was able to find a washer that is the same size. need to button this up.

i'll order one for another time.

figured out an easy method to make sure the belt is not binding when i'm tightening up the front variator plate bolt.
remove the idler pulley and then squeeze it together.
really drives the belt into the rear pulley and creates tons of slack up front.
very easy to confirm the belt is not binding when you torque down.

did notice a weird issue.
the fins on the outer variator plate have touches the inside of the cover at one point?

just wanted to add something.
when doing up the drive belt its best to use this very simple method.after you have reassembled the variator and are reading to start to do up the large retaining nut.do the following

if not already done so remove the middle black wheel between variator and clutch.

with belt in place and ready to do up retaining nut.

1.pinch the drive belt together as hard as you can in the middle with your fingers.
2.turn nut to tighten up but just a little bit.
3. now move belt by pulling ( top side left bottom side right ) so that it moves around the variator without getting stuck.
repeat this process till the center nut is fully tightened.
if at any time you are unable to move drive belt freely then its most likely you have caught it and its now pinched. release the nut and start again.
this mistake of pinching the drive belt is very easy to do and will result in damage. always worth checking belt after install it just takes a few seconds.
4. don't forget to put the centre wheel back in before you put the otter casing back on......iv done this so many times I must be on drugs.
