Oh God, it's raining
But I'm not complaining
It's filling me up
With new life

The stars in the sky
Bring tears to my eyes
They're lighting my way
Tonight

And I haven't felt so alive
In years

Just for a day
On a day like today
I'll get away from this
Constant debauchery

The wind in my hair
Makes me so aware
How good it is to live
Tonight

And I haven't felt so alive
In years

The moon
Is shining in the sky
Reminding me
Of so many other nights
But they're not like tonight

Oh God, it's raining
And I'm not containing
My pleasure at being
So wet

Thanks for the smile. It's raining as I type and I'm loving it.

The ones you love. Take them with you right?

You are serious. Lovely.

Bury me softly in this womb
I give this part of me for you
Sand rains down and here I sit
Holding rare flowers
In a tomb, in bloom

Down in a hole and I don't know if I can be saved
See my heart I decorate it like a grave
You don't understand who they thought
I was supposed to be
Look at me now a man
Who won't let himself be

Down in a hole, feelin' so small
Down in a hole, losin' my soul
I'd like to fly, but my wings have been so denied

Down in a hole and they've put all the stones in their place
I've eaten the sun so my tongue
Has been burned of the taste
I have been guilty of kicking myself in the teeth
I will speak no more of my feelings beneath

Down in a hole, feelin' so small
Down in a hole, losin' my soul
I'd like…

I'm smiling too, but not at your verse. Like GG, we smile because it's raining.

Seeing as the Op is from that part of the world.

If all the world and love were young,
And truth in every Shepherd’s tongue,
These pretty pleasures might me move,
To live with thee, and be thy love.

Time drives the flocks from field to fold,
When Rivers rage and Rocks grow cold,
And Philomel becometh dumb,
The rest complains of cares to come.

The flowers do fade, and wanton fields,
To wayward winter reckoning yields,
A honey tongue, a heart of gall,
Is fancy’s spring, but sorrow’s fall.

Thy gowns, thy shoes, thy beds of Roses,
Thy cap, thy kirtle, and thy posies
Soon break, soon wither, soon forgotten:
In folly ripe, in reason rotten.

Thy belt of straw and Ivy buds,
The Coral clasps and amber studs,
All these in me no means can move
To come to thee and be thy love.

But could youth last, and love still breed,
Had joys no date, nor age no need,
Then these delights my mind might move
To live with thee, and be thy love.

There was a young Mod called Trotter
Who got in a fight with a rocker
They fought tooth and nail
Until they got put in Jail
And this poem is a shocker

Hecks becks, Lowes is full of Xmas shit, so here goes:
(To the tune of Good King Whatsiface)

Modern Jess did just look out
On a fleet of scooters
When the snow lay round about
Right up to his hooters
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel
When a Vespa came in sight
Carb starving of fuel.

"Hither Mods, and stand by me
If thou know'st it, telling
Yonder MV'er, who is he?
Where and what his dwelling?"
"Jess, he roams most every state
From East coast to the West, sir,
His Vespa crosses all state lines
Scooting just for pleasure".

"Bring me fuel and bring me tires
Bring me parts Malossi.
Thou and I will see him on
With tuning from our Greasy.
Mods and Jess forth they went
Forth they went together
Stripped the scoot then rebuilt it
Now it runs much better.

Jess, the night is darker now
And the wind blows stronger.
The scoot is built, but 'tis so cold
How can we go much longer?
"Watch my tracks, my good Mods
Ride forth in them boldly.
Heated grips and ;ap apron
Freeze thy blood less coldly".

So in their master's tracks they rode
Where the snow lay dinted.
Grooves were left in every sod
Which Michelin had printed.
Therefore, MVers, be sure
Wealth or rank possessing
Ye who ride with modern scoots
Shall yourselves find blessing.

Here's another, from a brother:

Twas a few days ‘fore Christmas
And all my shopping was done,
Now was the time
For a wee bit of fun

I pulled on my helmet
And cold weather mittens,
The insides of which
Feel like two soft, warm kittens

Away to the garage
I flew like a flash
Eagerly awaiting
A mid-winter dash

I went out to my Vespa
And as I drew near
The excitement was great
And climbed aboard my 2 wheeled reindeer

A turn of the key
And a flip of the switch
She breathed to life
With just a little twitch

Onto the street
I rode my little ride
With a great big smile
Indeed a few miles wide

A short little ride
It’s hard to believe
Can bring such joy
And so much relief

As I finish my ride
I can’t help wonder why
I shouldn’t spend more time
Beneath the open sky

So I ride past my house
Without skipping a beat
In hopes of finding
Another unknown street

As I wind out the engine
With my headlight so bright
I wish you all Merry Christmas
And a lovely winter’s nig

Dagnabbit y'all got me going. I'll never get to bed now. Found this on my computer:

Satnav – A new poem by Pam Ayres

I have a little Satnav, it sits there in my car.
A Satnav is a driver's friend it tells you where you are.
I have a little Satnav, I've had it all my life.
It's better than the normal ones, my Satnav is my wife.
It gives me full instructions, especially how to drive
"It's sixty miles an hour", it says, "You're doing sixty five".

It tells me when to stop and start, and when to use the brake
And tells me that it's never ever, safe to overtake.
It tells me when a light is red, and when it goes to green
It seems to know instinctively, just when to intervene.
It lists the vehicles just in front, and all those to the rear.
And taking this into account, it specifies my gear.

I'm sure no other driver, has so helpful a device.
For when we leave and lock the car, it still gives its advice.
It fills me up with counselling, each journey's pretty fraught.
So why don't I exchange it, and get a quieter sort?
Ah well, you see, it cleans the house, makes sure I'm properly fed.
It washes all my shirts and things, and keeps me warm in bed!

Despite all these advantages, and my tendency to scoff,
I only wish that now and then, I could turn the bugger off.

This one's mine. I think:

The Long Ride
And so today, our world it smiles
We're on the road, we scoot the miles.
Coffee keeps us wide awake
Consume too much, begin to shake...

The engines strain as hills we climb.
Ah yes, we're running out of rhyme!
Our eyes are glued to th' road ahead,
Our minds fixate on a motel bed.

Arrive by dusk, with a bit of luck...
...unless we fly like goose or duck.
With a cloud of dust and a squeal of brakes,
We find a bar, our thirst to slake.

A uke is plucked; in voices pretty.
All riders sing our little ditty.
Now Vespa, now Stella, Now Prancer and Vixen,
Out with the tools, our rides need fixin'.

Wile we are waxing poetic, to paraphrase Hunter S. Thompson:

Scooting is a cruel and shallow money trench,
a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free,
and good men die like dogs.

There's also a negative side.

It came to me so fast I was lucky to get it down. I’m thinking children’s book.

I like to ride my scooters Sometimes around a tree
I like to ride my scooters
And show off in front of thee
I like to ride my scooters
Slow down a country lane
I like to ride my scooters
At speeds thought quite insane
I like to ride my scooters
Even in the harshest snow
I like to ride my scooters
By now I’m sure you know

I like poetry. Please let me emote:

There once was a poet named Trotter,

Whose prose made emotions much hotter.

The ban-hammer came strong,

A singin’ its song,

Which was nothin’ like Welcome back Kotter.
